[Expired] Chase Offers/BofA/U.S. Bank: Walmart.com, Get 3% Cashback (Max $5 Cashback)

Deal has ended, view more Walmart deals by clicking here.

Update 3/12/25: Chase & U.S. Bank Offer to get 3% back through March 17th, up to $5 cashback max.

The Offer

Check your Chase Offers for the following deal:

  • Activate to get 5% back on your Walmart.com purchases, up to $10 cashback. Expires 10/31/2022.

The Fine Print

  • Valid only for Walmart.com purchases. Offer not valid on in-store, gas or pharmacy purchases. Offer not valid on grocery pickup or delivery.
  • Orders must be placed on walmart.com or via mobile app. Offer not valid on purchases made using third-party services, delivery services, or a third-party payment account (e.g., buy now pay later). (might exclude Paypal)
  • Offer not valid on gift cards. Payment must be made on or before offer expiration date.

Our Verdict

Nice discount for Walmart. This is one I can actually use, but sadly wasn’t targeted. While stores and gas are excluded, you can try buying $150 physical gift card (affiliate link) and use that in-store or at the pump. Note, the fine print excludes gift cards; let us know if you try.

Lackluster offer. I’m getting 5% on all Walmart purchases with Discover at the moment. Up to $1500.

iirc, that was a targeted promotion that ends on March 31st?

How is that? I don’t see Walmart as a category.

Hmm. It may be targeted offer, and yes it’s only 1000 not 1500:

The e-mail subject says “Congrats <member name>, you can earn 4% extra cash back for all new purchases at Walmart”

Earn an extra 4% cash back at Walmart

On up to $1,000 in new purchases through March 31, 2025.* That’s up to $40 extra cash back at Walmart in addition to the Discover® rewards you’re already earning!

in just 1 click! Offer only available through this email.

Congrats on getting the offer. I’ve done well maximizing my Discover it card over the years but never get any of these targeted offers. That might be because I use it so much though.

Nothing for Wally. But plenty for FasTrack. Which to me has nothing good. Unless I can buy lottery tickets.

 Chuck
I also got on my US Bank Cash Plus card (from the “Cash-back deals” portal, expired 4/5):

  1. 10% Cash Back (up to $23) from Best Buy
  2. 10% Cash Back (up to $4) from any restaurants or fast food restaurants (shown as “Dining”)

Separate from above, I also got $10 statement credit on a $150 or more spend on “dining purchases” (need enrollment by 4/30, dining purchases need to be within 3/11-5/16). The terms say “net purchases of $150 or more” so I think you can spread the $150 over multiple visits. This is found at the banners above the dashboards where they normally advertise CD rates and credit cards. This is different from the “Cash-back deals” portal

Three percent back up to $5? I’m insulted. 🙂

I don’t understand these offers. They just appeared on my chase cards and expire in 4 days. What’s the point

This is a little harder to justify using these days when Pepper is somewhat regularly 10% back on Sams/Walmart gift cards.

You can use a Sam’s Club gift card in store and online at Walmart?

Yes, I did a screenshot of the barcode and it worked fine at WM’s SCO. YMMV if it would be as easy with a cashier.

You can also load it to your Walmart account and then use Walmart Pay.

Not using Pepper.

$100 on $1000+ or $200 on $2000+ offer with my Citi SYW MasterCard which covers in-store at Walmart. Walmart in-store codes as grocery with 3% cashback.

Exactly. Anyone who reads this blog on a regular basis knows all kinds of ways to beat 3% at WM.

Stack with 5% for Paypal if you have the offer in your account.

Used.bofa to purchase physical gift cards. Immediate email received that the offer was “redeemed”.
