Chase and Southwest launched today their new Priority credit card with a $75 travel credit, 7,500 annual points bonus, 65,000 points signup bonus, and $149 annual fee.

Promoting the new card, there’s a Priority Tour planned from July 21 through August 18 hitting 10 major US cities (list below) and giving out prizes at each location as well.

You have to register at the above link to be eligible for prizes. I assume anyone can just show up at the event if that interests them, but only select people will be eligible to win prizes. If I’m reading correctly, the way the prize giveaway will work is as follows:

  • Register for the game (I think this part will be done online) and 25% of registrants will be selected to be Swipe Players.
  • Swipe Players will come to the tour location and swipe a game card which will be given to them there; I believe each person chooses one prize they want to try for, but not positive about this.
  • Odds of winning can be found on the PDF – ranges from around .5% to around 25%, depending on the prize.

Another thing noted on the tour promotional page is that the signup bonus for the new Southwest Priority card will last through August 22, 2018. We’ve added that information to the original post.

What exactly are these events all about? The Denver metro one seems to be quite outside of the metro; Red Rocks Amphitheatre seems like a cool place to visit, but Thursday 15:00/21:00 isn’t necessarily the best time for such a drive for just the pretzels alone (sorry, I know I’m spoiled with all the free stuff).

P.S. Will they at least have the peanuts? Or is it past August 1 now?

Where exactly at Globe Life Park is this being held. Do you have to have a ballgame ticket and be inside the park or is it outside?

The prizes are not that exciting. Not worth the commute in my opinion.

Based on the terms, it seems I can attend both days the event is in my city (LA) and play each “game period.” Any info on if that’s possible, or are the events only for people who have been pre-selected as swipe players?

Where’s any indication the site is legit? Is it linked from Chase or Southwest anywhere?

the main domain southwest.com is registered by MarkMonitor Inc. this promo website southwestprioritycard.com is also under the same marketing company. its legit. altho hacking and spoofing is always possible. there are ways to do that. however, the media blitz on this is too high. if not legit, it would have come out by now.

this is pretty aggressive. cant imagine every bank and cobrand doing this but i can see B6 AA UA and maybe even AS busting this out.

probably next is mandatory CC pitches by high school teachers to get gen Z early.

also didnt know uniforms were upgraded. have not noticed.

Too bad applications for this did not start in October. I have my eye on a companion pass to be earned 2019 / 2020.
