Update 8/18/21: They’ve now added Freedom Student and the Slate Edge card as part of the Freedom family, e.g. if you have a referral for the Freedom card you can refer to the Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, Freedom Student, or Slate Edge.

The Chase Freedom and Freedom Unlimited cards are now a single ‘family’ for the sake of referrals in that if you have a Freedom card you can refer to either the Freedom or Freedom Unlimited and vice versa.

The referral bonus for the referrer is $100/10,000 points on both cards, regardless of which card the new member signs up for. Previously, I believe the Freedom card was $50 and the Freedom Unlimited $100. In fact, it’s still showing those numbers on the public landing page (at the time of this writing), but when you input your info it shows the $100 bonus for Freedom cardholders who refer as well.
The signup bonus for the new member is $200 after $500 spend on both cards which is the same as the public offer.
Mid-2019 Chase made a similar move with regards to the Southwest cards. Will be interesting to see if the move evolves further and allows referrals to other of Chase’s own cards, like from Freedom to Sapphire.
Far as I know, you still get to max out the $500 limits on each card separately, for example, if you have both the Freedom and Freedom Unlimited cards, you can use your Freedom referral link to refer 5 friends and you can invite 5 more friends using your Freedom Unlimited card.

Last week I got a Chase Freedom referral email with link. It said it was good for six months. The link shows 4 freedom cards including the grocery offer on CFU and CFF. Tried to use it today and doesn’t work for CFU or CFF – says offer not available. Only works for Student and Slate.
My Player 2 was researching Chase Freedom Unlimited in one browser window while having my referral URL in another. She completed the app and was approved before realizing she had not used the right window. Yeah, the lesson here is to be extremely careful. Learned. But has anyone successfully made a similar mistake and made a plea through secure message to apply the referral retroactively?
Not sure about this card but generally if it’s within a few weeks they will match it. Just send them a message asking for the bonus to be added to the account.
Does both, the referrer and the one who opened a new account via referral link get $100 or only the person who referred?
I believe it’s $100 (10,000) for referrer and $200 (20,000) for new member; the latter is only if they spend $500

The student freedom has been one family for a while ( Could be there has been some interruptions and times when it was not available, but) I remember seeing it as an option On my referral link many months ago
I think there is still a public offer on the Chase Freedom though, so they haven’t completely phased it out.

If you transfer the points from Freedom to CSR yes.
