New reports indicate that the 100,000 online Chase Sapphire Preferred offer is now available in branch as well. The $95 annual fee IS being waived in branch, so you can get the better offer and get the fee waiver by applying in branch. Be sure to double-check that you are being offered the new 100,000 bonus and not the older 80,000 bonus as some branches/bankers are still offering the older offer.
One additional note: I think there’s a good chance that referral links will soon get the 100,000 offer as well (no inside info, just a guess). That offer does not have the $95 fee waiver, but the referrer will get the referral bonus. Some people will prefer that referrer bonus + online convenience versus the $95 fee waiver.
