Unfortunately as of the 25th of November, 2013 this promotion is now over, sign up bonus is back down to 40,000 points.
Chase has announced that they are increasing the sign up bonus from 40,000 points to 50,000 points. They’ve done this before, in fact most years around Christmas Chase usually increases the sign up bonus by 10,000 points.
All of the other bonuses (5,000 extra points by adding an authorized user) stay the same, the extra 10,000 points is the only difference apart from the fact that the annual fee is $125 instead of the usual $95.
Try calling Chase’s support department. Multiple people are reporting that by doing this they were able to get the extra points added to their account.
Card holders must spend $3,000 within 3 months to get the bonus points. The points are valued at $0.01 each ($500 in bonus points) if redeemed for cash or $0.012 if redeemed for travel. They can also be transferred to one of Chase’s transfer partners which can result in even better redemption rates.
