Chase has announced a negative change to priority pass access for the Chase Sapphire Reserve & Chase Ritz-Carlton cards. Starting July 1 these cardholders will lose access to non-lounge spaces such as restaurants, cafes and markets.
As of July 1, 2024 you will no longer have access to restaurants, cafes, and markets participating in the Priority Pass Select network as part of the Priority Pass Select Benefit associated with your Card. Access to Priority Pass Select’s network of lounges and other select airport experiences is not impacted by this update.
Capital One made this change last year and American Express made it in 2019. I assume this is because Priority Pass charges a higher fee when providing this access. You can compare the different levels of Priority Pass access here (we will fully update this page in the coming days). How negative this change is really depends on your local airport/airports you fly to.

However citi prestige card will still have restaurant access correct?!
I only kept this card because of the restaurant access, seems like there is no point in keeping it since I have a Platinum card.
When is optimal time to cancel this card? I just opened the account in late Feb. Put the tsa precheck on the card a week ago. Should I wait to accrue $4k, get bonus, then get prorated refund of annual fee? If I do, will the claw back the points or the precheck reimbursement? Should I keep the card for one full year? I am not happy at all about what feels like bait and switch. I was counting on the restaurant access at SEA and CLT. TIA for any advice.
Just got CSR literally five days ago or so. Does this mean no PP lounges at all? Or just not those credits where it says something like $20 at this specific restaurant?
Lounge access but no restaurant credit
Just means you cannot access restaurants. You can still use it for lounges for Airports that have it available.
Time to get a Capital One Venture X Business credit card for PP restaurants and shops access.
Which credit cards still offer Priority Pass restaurant privileges? With Chase removing this handy perk, only a small number of travel credit cards still offer free food through Priority Pass:
So which card are ya’ll considering now? This is probably the last straw for me to keep the card.
Such a shame
What is this pattern with axing PP benefits? Come on, enough with racing to the bottom.
I recently doubled down on the CRS, and they do this to me. I was hoping that this would be the last thing Chase woud do as it’s a stand out from AMEX. I guessed wrong.
Welp! This was my first premium travel card I got in 2020 and specifically kept it so far because of restaurant benefits. Even during my last trip out of San Diego I preferred the restaurant instead of lounge due to walking distance. Time to retire this card soon..
That lounge is a zoo anyway
