Our Verdict
They offered the same in 2023, 2022, and similar offers in the past as well. We often see offers on these cards for 75,000 points, but don’t have the automatic Companion Pass component; you typically need 125,000/135,000 points to get the pass.
Note that the Companion Pass earned with this signup deal is valid through February 2025 whereas when you earn it through the traditional method it’s valid through the end of the following year (which potentially can be almost 2 years, when timed right). This offer will still be a nice, simple deal for a lot of people.
This offer is available via referral link as well (it might have to be a newly generated link) which sweetens the deal considerably if you have a partner who can refer you and get 20,000 points. No referrals in the comments.

Got approved for 50k/$1k plus 25% discount code on first fare purchase using an in-flight code I was given on an FB group.
Any luck matching the 30K offer to the 50K. Less spend, and I’ll get the comp pass anyway. First try last week using the in air referral offer was unsuccessful. Will try again with the public offer.

I submitted an application for the Plus on 3/11 but it went into review. Recon was closed so I called recon the next business day. They said there is nothing they can do so just wait.
Btw, the application link is still alive as of 3/12 12PM EST.
It’s showing up in my account now, although I haven’t gotten an email from them. Eagerly waiting for the card to arrive so I can pay my taxes and be done with the MSR.

If I sign up on 3/7/24, and complete the 4K spend within a week or two, would I get the bonus in time to book a flight on 7/2/24? I’m not too familiar with the timelines of these bonuses, as far as when you get the bonus. After the 4k spend is complete, or after the 3 months?

If I do this to get CP + 30k points, then later in the year get a second SW CC, and earn 105k points in bonus+CC spend, would I get the full CP through the end of 2025? I would think so, but does anyone know for sure? Thanks!
You can’t get two personal SW cards. You’ll need your second card to be a business card for this to work.

With the Companion Pass, I guess could be worth it but I never find any direct flights with Southwest and you lose a whole day to traveling with layovers.
I live in the Midwest so I get direct flights to Denver all the time.
We’re also taking a direct flight to La Guardia in June.
You can’t have a connecting flight without both of the legs being direct flights between the pairs of cities! SW assuredly offers direct flights….but you fail to mention your desired departure and arrival cities. And if you can’t find a direct flight between your desired cities, that is likely because SW doesnt offer it, not a function of the CP not being “worth it”
Waiting fort the standard offer to return. I just need 29k points to earn CP the traditional way and thus having CP through full 2025 and not ending Feb 2025.
