Update: Lounge is now open, some photos of the space below
Chase has announced it will be opening a new ‘lounge space’ called Sapphire Terrace in the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Unlike other Chase lounges this will be exclusively for Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders (they can also bring up to two guests). The lounge will be open from  10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
The space itself seems unremarkable currently, it’s an outside area with a few chairs. Chase has stated the lounge will offer ‘complimentary local beverages (like cider from Austin Eastciders and beer from (512) Brewing Company as well as non-alcoholic beverages), convenient grab-and-go bites, shuffleboard and giveaways’.
It will be interesting to see if Chase does more of these Chase only lounges or will stick with the partnership with Airport Dimensions where Priority Pass cardholders can also access the lounges.
Does the Ritz-Carlton card not come with access to this one?
That outside deck will be really nice come August.
Yuk. Do better Chase

This actually is part of its partnership with Airport Dimensions. It’s not a full lounge, more opportunistic use of available space, and that drives how they are marketing it (‘not a lounge’) and what access rules look like. Whether they do more of these is going to depend on available space at airports, this isn’t viewed as a permanent space but as something that will last a few years until they hopefully get access to one of the couple of lounge spaces that’ll become available in the airport.
William Charles Chuck Was your site hacked? I never shared my email elsewhere, nor did I post my email or any referral link here. How come an imposter knew my email and used it to make the above post?
Not that I know of, I’ve removed the comment though
Ouch. We have exactly 10 good weather outdoor days in an year. It’s too cold or too hot in Austin all the time.
Bonus for being next to a runway. Atleast I could gasp some fumes and wind.
The food vending machine here has prepackaged boiled eggs like the United Club Fly in DEN does. 🙃
This area isn’t zoned for actual food service, so there’s no heated food whatsoever and not even hot water for tea/coffee. And proximity to the runway means that beverages can only be served in paper or aluminum containers (no glass bottles). Feels weird that an exclusive gentrified space like this has so little to offer in the way of things to eat or do three hours before flight departure.
This used to be a public space. Has the lounge taken over the entire outdoor terrace or is there still some public space?
Daily dozens of travel influencers will be there vlogging about the lounge and giving death stares at normies that end up in their shot or on their audio. Some will say something similar to, “I am working here and need your support because I am making important content for my followers.”.
Hate those MF’rs treating the lounge like it is their private soundstage.
Good to see there’s still hope in the world
I identify as both a normie and a follower, and I feel so seen by your comment.
I think after the novelty has worn off in a few weeks the hipsters and content creators will have had their fill. Personally, I enjoy photobombing the shit out of amateurs and making their footage unusable because they don’t know how to edit.
This so-called lounge has no walls and is completely exposed to the noise of the terminal on the inside and to turbulence of the runway on the outside, so for better or worse it really is a soundstage.
Your outrage is pointless, and chances are you were never going to come here anyway.
Is this the location of the first DoC in person meetup
Slightly tangential, but I miss when Chase used to do mock United Club pop-ups in shopping malls during the holidays years ago.
Anyone with a co-branded UA CC could get in. Got a ton of cheap United Club passes that way.
