Can never find Delta One to Europe anymore on Virgin:(
Disaster update with those Chase biz cards. I tried transferring points from my account to wife’s FF/Hotel loyalty account but it is not allowing and show error message. I used to be able to do it bakc and forth and I have been a chase biz customers for 15 years. You can no longer transfer points from your Ink preferred biz card to any AU/EMPLOYEE/HOUSEHOLD member’s FF/Hotel Loyalty account. You can only transfer points to account owner/business owner’s account. When you call Chase, they will tell you this is not allowed/it is not allowing them to do it when you ask the agent to try. I spoke to a supervisor who told me only the business account owner can transfer to his/her own loyalty account. If you want the ability to transfer points to any one other than the business account owner, the owner and AU/employee MUST SEND PROOF OF BUSINESS DOCUMENTS and proof of business ownership.
I tried this with few reps including two supervisors and all told me this is not allowed with chase biz cards.
If you’re trying to transfer points to an existing authorized user/ employee’s airline or hotel loyalty account, you’ll encounter a message stating:
“Special handling required. We are unable to process this transfer online. Please call the number on the back of your card for assistance.”
I will remove as AU/EMPLOYEE and have her apply for Ink biz preferred so she can do the transfer to her transfer partner account.
disaster update seems quite dramatic? are you saying she doesn’t have any chase accounts? since you can just transfer the points to her chase account before transfer partner account? confused why this is a big deal
It’s just like what the post says above . We both have chase biz and personal cards for the last 15 years if you want to ask if we have chase cards . My point is that chase does not allow points transfer from an ink account to any partner accounts except the account owner’s FF or hotel loyalty account . . Not allowed on AU either unless you want to send proof of biz and proof of biz ownership. Normally between two spouses , one would apply for a chase card with an annual fee that can do the points transfer to both self and spouse / AU / employee . With this new restriction with ink preferred card, you have to get your own card that can you do point transfer to FF account. We no longer own CSP or CSR personal cards so we don’t have knowledge on points transfer to FF accounts.i am sure with either of those two personal cards one can still transfer to AU’s FF account .
Open a CSR then. It’s a pretty much no brainer card and pays for itself.
Open a CC and pay $95 annual fee for your wife (CSP CIP)
If spend $95 annual fee = disaster in your life.. I feel sad for you.
Also a lot of FF/HOTEL you can combine point between household or or reserve for others
1. Hyatt you can transfer point between account https://world.hyatt.com/content/dam/HGP/HyattFinalImages/world-of-hyatt/Point_Combining_RequestForm_En.pdf
2. Virgin Atlantic United and Delta you can use point/miles to redeem ticket for others,
4. Marriott you can reserve for other even you are not travelling, you just need to call them for reservation instead book online
https://help.marriott.com/s/article/Article-22282#:~:text=You%20can%20only%20use%20your,a%20Room%20for%20another%20Guest
why does this matter?
In 99% of the cases you do not have to transfer points to your wife FF/Hotel account.. you can transfer to yours and book her a ticket or a stay from your account. I do not know a program from a top of my head which would not allow you to book an airline ticket for your spouse, or to add her to your hotel reservation, so she can check in herself without you.
May be some will require a proof (i.e. Korean) or require a call to book (i.e. Turkish) (which is still may be faster than waiting on a new card), but most would not care at all.
With this being said, getting another Ink with another bonus is worth on its own, especially with 40K referral bonus, and 100K SUB.
Good luck.
The Ink preferred has transfer capabaility to one’s own FF account but really hate the points earning category on Ink preferred and also $8k spend req. Not eligible for CSP as it hasn’t been 48 months. Maybe convert one of existing no fee ink cash to preferred card but than there is the $95 fee. Maybe I should upgrade to preferred card , transfer out the points to partner account and downgrade fast to avoid the $95 fee?
>>Maybe I should upgrade to preferred card , transfer out the points to partner account and downgrade fast to avoid the $95 fee?
Please don’t do this and raise potential eyes on it.. if you upgrade and keep it for the year.. with double dipping opportunity in the form of hotel annual credit this card is anyway net positive if you cancel after a year..
Chase is generous with UR and signup bonus!!
