Chase United Quest Card: 80,000 Mile Sign Up Bonus

The Offer

No direct link to offer, shows up when going through referral links but then says ‘offer unavailable’. Hoping somebody is able to find a working non referral link

  • Chase is offering a bonus of 80,000 miles on the Chase United Quest card when you spend $5,000 within the first three months of account opening

Card Details

  • Annual fee of $250
  • $125 credit on card anniversary, good for United purchases.
  • Up to 10,000 miles back. Get 5,000 miles back for each award flight per year (up to two). Based on cardmember year, not calendar.
  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • 3x points per $1 spent on United purchases
    • 2x points per $1 spent on all other travel purchases
    • 2x points per $1 spent on select streaming and restaurant purchases
    • 1x point per $1 spent on all other purchases
  • Free first and second checked bag
  • Priority boarding and premier upgrades on award tickets

Our Verdict

There was recently a 75,000 United mile bonus on the Explorer card and that had the annual fee waived first year. That’s probably a better offer for most people, although if you take two award flights and value United miles highly and can also use the United credits than those benefits could make up for the annual fee (that’s a lot of buts).

Haha. Other than Doc, not one blogger has mentioned this card’s existence yet. No affiliate commission, then it might as well not even exist.

TPG can’t blog about it without a public offer link

$250 annual fee (the $125 credit is only after your anniversary?) and $5000 spend and a 5/24 slot to get 80,000 miles is definitely not worth it.

If you value United miles highly, that’s where you’ve already lost.
Aeroplan is much better.

I am surprised the card doesn’t offer United Club passes

Coz they are terrible and nobody would use them unless they are at ORD where there are basically no Lounges…😅

Does 5/24 apply to this card?

What are the terms W/R/T current cardholders? Do I need to cancel my MP/Explorer/weird legacy product to apply? Any bonus clock limitations (e.g., “must be 24 months since last Explorer bonus)?

I think it’s a bit interesting united went for purple on their midrange card, i.e. the same color as Delta’s top-end card.

It fits their branding. They use purple for PremiumPlus. Polaris has more blue and navy. But they went with black for the Club card because they lack imagination

Reminds me of the good ole purple Marriott Biz card, before it got Bonvoy’d
