Chipotle has announced that they will be launching a new rewards program called Chiptopia for summer, the program will officially launch on July 1st, 2016. It will only run through September though, so it’s a very limited time offer likely due to lower sales caused by food safety concerns. The program is fairly simple and similar to other rewards programs in the food space. Whenever you make a purchase of $6 or more (excluding sales tax, fees and items such as gift cards and alcoholic beverages) you’ll earn one credit (see as a burrito in the below graphic).
Rewards start at four credits and are capped at 11 credits. Credits are only valid for the month they are earned in (so you cannot use your credits earned in July for August for example). One of the nice things is that when you redeem a reward it counts towards earning a credit as well. Gift cards are also an acceptable form of payment, but other promotional offers (e.g Burrito Bucks) doesn’t count. You’re limited to earning one credit per day.
You can view the rewards below (you’ll also earn free order of chips & guac with your first purchase):
Our Verdict
The idea of eating 4 times at Chipotle in a month isn’t appealing to me, but each to their own. If you do visit Chipotle often then this is a pretty good deal, especially since the entrees count towards your next reward as well. It’s also possible to purchase Chipotle gift cards for 15% off according to GiftCardWiki. What are your thoughts on the Chipotle rewards program?
