Choice Privileges has majorly devalued points redemptions in Japan (mostly Tokyo, Osaka & Fukuoka). Prices for most properties in these locations used to be 8,000 points per night, this then increased to 10,000 then 12,000 and now we are seeing prices of up to 25,000-30,000.
Hopefully anybody that transferred points before Citi nuked the transfer rate have already redeemed them.
