Citi has added Wyndham as a ThankYou transfer partner. Citi ThankYou points transfer at a rate of 1:1 (for cards with an annual fee like Premier & Prestige) and 1:.08Â (for cards without an annual fee like Preferred). Wyndham does have some good properties at a useful price, but most people will prefer transferring to airline partners at a 1:1 rate and I wouldn’t recommend transferring unless you have a specific redemption in mind. I suspect we will see some Wyndham transfer bonuses in the future to make this rate more attractive. Citi recently added Choice as a transfer partner but at a rate of 1:2.
I just had three nights at Wyndham
Cash
The primary sweet spots her are the Vacasa rentals and properties capped out at 30,000 pts/night. Everything else is super marginal.
TheJstandsforJ i agree, but how earn enough wyndham points for a decent vacation?
The Citi Premier and Venture X SUBs are 80k and 100k respectively. The is 5-6 nights at a 1 bedroom Vacasa or 2-3 nights at a Wyndham resort. The CCC and Savor One also have 30k and 20k pt bonuses if you couldn’t get the other bonuses and those multiples would allow you to get a bunch of points quickly.
I don’t have one of the Wyndham earner cards, but you get a 10% discount which reduces the points you need.
Hope that helps.
TheJstandsforJ Thank you, have both. Do you know which other capital one business cards are not reported?
I like this option with Citi, as I have been banned from Barclay’s and am on the fence as to if I want to go down the C1 route.
CJ why banned?
My two Barclay cards were shut down five years ago. I was using the cards for legitimate business expenses (travel), but recycled my credit limits most months due to the quantity of expenses. I was never late and never paid a cent of interest. Then shortly after the first of the year, my accounts were all closed. I appealed to the Office of the President numerous times, but they would not provide me with a straight answer. I was originally told that it was not a permanent ban, but learned last month from a Barclays credit analyst that it was in fact permanent unless Barclays changes their policy down the road. Now I realize that it was due to cycling through my credit limit. The fact that I charged $990K to $1.3M annually on the cards for a number of years was likely the red flag.
CJ thanks for sharing. will be more careful when cycling thru my CL.
Yes, I don’t do it with any issuer anymore.
To be fair, if there is a bank to cycle like a maniac because you don’t care about getting more cards, that bank is Barclays. They are a SUB and dump outfit.
I just hated the ban, as I was finding good point value at the Wyndham Viva All Inclusive resorts for 15K a night before they changed to 30K a night. In addition, I redeemed several summers for national park trips. There are very few great points hotels near national parks, but I had quite a bit of success redeeming with Wyndham.
How did you find out you are banned? Were you shutdown for MS? Do you know if its a temp ban or permanent ban?
i was banned also from barclay. i suspect the reason why is cause i downgraded a card and got the bonus for it…not enough spend on their cards and they were upset. that’s the only reason i can think of. too many bonuses open and closed but i always waited a min of 6 months…i didnt even have that many card with them..just the arrival and aa card
