The Offer
There’s a signup bonus offer showing in Costco club for the Citi Costco credit card:
- Costco Executive members can get a $55 statement credit when signing up for the Citi Costco credit and spending $55 within three months
The offer is valid from March 20 until April 9, 2017. For Costco Executive members only. The statement credit will post within 12 weeks.
Card Details
- No annual fee (but Costco membership is required)
- Card earns at the following rates:
- 4% cash back on eligible gas worldwide, including gas at Costco, for the first $7,000 per year and then 1% thereafter
- 3% cash back on restaurant and eligible travel purchases worldwide
- 2% cash back on all other purchases from Costco and Costco.com
- 1% cash back on all other purchases
Our Verdict
$55 is obviously not enough of a reason to signup for the card, but if you are on the fence for the card this is certainly a nice little bonus.
As far as I can tell, this offer is only available for in-club signups. They probably have a special signup offer there. Hopefully, it’s available in all clubs, but might be worth calling in before making a special trip.

I have the Executive Costco membership which gives 2 percent back at Costco. I also have the Citi Costco Visa card which gives 2 percent back at Costco. Is this the same rebate or in addition to? Or is it better to use a 2 percent miles/cash back card to double dip? Sorry if you have already covered. Love this website!
What is the requirement to get approved for the business Costco credit card.
Does this apply only to the primary Costco member ? I am Executive and have the Costco VISA card already. My husband is on my membership also. Can he get his own Costco VISA and the $55 credit ?
I don’t know, try asking in store
If it pays out on the Itunes gift cards that would be a 4% bonus!
Definitely a step up from the case of water bottles promo, or the reusable tote promo!
I PC’d an up for renewal Citi AA Plat a few weeks ago to the Costco card.
They probably structured the bonus at $55 because it’s the difference between basic and execute membership.
This card is a solid backup to rotating 5%/x cards. Also has the Citi 2 year extended warranty. Bought a couch set and Roomba from Costco over the last few months. Put it on this card versus the freedom/IT cards for the extra year of warranty.
This isn’t the type of card to appeal to many churners but for many such as myself it stays in the main slot in my wallet.
Dont forget; Now through May 31, 2017 for Costco memberships. Starting June 1, the difference between basic “Gold Star” and Executive Memberships will be $60 (a $5 price increase for both).
