Bought an Amazon gift card for $19x.xx

Citi Custom Cash 5% pharmacy
Citi CVS merchant offer 5% (worked)
4% Ibotta CVS offer (worked)
10% Rakuten (worked)

The Rakuten CVS page said they were scrutinizing orders over $200 and also said the limit was $12.50 per in store order, however mine triggered for the full amount without issue.

My ibotta offer for CVS states that it excludes gift cards.

Yeah, but in my experience it always works (with Amazon cards anyway). Just submit the receipt even if it says no matched offers and the % back triggers.

Does your Rakuten cash back still show as Pending? I made a purchase in store a week ago and it’s still showing Pending for me.

Yes. I think CVS takes about 30 days in Rakuten. My CVS trip on 10/08 made it into the most recent Rakuten check.

I also got Paypal 7% back at CVS!
Can I pay with Paypal in Store?

Same here!
You should be able to pay in store with PP.
It actually shows online only, so I wonder If it will trigger the PP 7% when paying in store? anyone?
I also wonder, will Citi trigger the offer when paying thru PP? Anyone tried already?

This seems too risky to think it would trigger the Citi merchant offer.

Did yesterday man Citi and CVS made buying gift cards like pullling teeth scan license and fraud alert text on phone.

CVS has required scanning your license for as long as I can remember. You probably don’t use your Citi card for large purchases too often so the fraud alert is normal.

Don’t forget to stack with Rakuten CVS instore cash back, ranges between 5%-10% cb, usually capped at $5-$10.

It initially tracked for me but then got changed to 0, so YMMV. Or maybe add a gum to make it hopefully track the entire amount.

My CVS pulled all the variable Vanilla cards from the rack. Only $25 and $50 fixed value were left. Sad.

Citi credit posted fine, but my local CVS has a serious fraud issue. Luckily the clerk was aware and opened the cards before processing them, only the third card had no scratched off numbers. Then Vanilla blocked the card anyway lol. Had to call and now have to wait for a replacement. PITA as usual.

How long did they take to send out a replacement card after you reported the issue?

Never again at CVS. Their vanillas are trash, always locked upon purchase. Replacement was never sent this last time, still waiting on a second replacement. PITA
