Citi Offers: Get 4% Back At Giant/Stop & Shop (Up To 12 Uses; $30 Max Cashback)

Update 4/4/25: Offer is back through 6/30/25 (ht Eric)

The Offer

  • Check your Citi Offers for either 2.5% or 4% back at the Giant or Stop & Shop grocery chain. Offer can be used up to 12 times with max cashback total of $30.

The Fine Print

  • May be redeemed 12 time(s) by the offer end date.
  • Max award is a $30 statement credit.
  • Offer is nontransferable and the enrolled card must be active and in good-standing in order to be eligible for an award. Offers cannot be combined or stacked with other offers. If a merchant processes your online order in separate transactions, you may only earn an award on the first processed transaction if it meets all other offer criteria. Other exclusions and restrictions may apply. We may determine that certain offers are ineligible for an award. We may, in our sole discretion, suspend or deny your eligibility for all or part of the merchant offers program at any time without advanced notice to you.

Our Verdict

Grocery deals are always nice. This one has a respectable $30 max cashback for some real savings.

Frequentmiler notes that there’s also a Rakuten in-store cashback offer for Stop & Shop, as well a SimplyMiles offer. Those two run on the same network so you’ll have to choose which one of those you want.

Offer History:

  • Update 3/6/25: Deal is back, valid until March 31, 2025
  • Update 1/29/25: Offer is back again. Expires Feb. 28, 2025. (ht atexit8)
  • Update 12/14/24: Offer is back through 1/4/25
  • Update 9/19/24: Deal is back and valid until November 18, 2024.

Just a thought…S&S in my area (Putnam Co NY, Fairfield Co CT, now have 7.95 Vanilla. Must have been just rolled out. I’m thinking on Citi CC you only get max of 25.00 monthly cash back. Same with Disc q. How about paying 500 for the cards with CC, and the fee with a 2 or 3% card. Pay separately.

If you have either the 2.5% or the 4% offer on your CCC, your idea doesn’t make much sense. The fee will get you either 3.5% or 5% total CB, which is more than a 2% or 3% card will earn.

the limit on 5% CB on the CCC (monthly) and Disc and Dividend quarterly categories for grocery is capped at 500.00 for each VGC or MCGC. So, no extra CB on the fees. If one buys 15-20 VGC or MCGC monthly, like me, (at least that amount) you can earn an extra $5-8.00 monthly using a 2 or 3% cash back card. This adds up after a few months. Of course, if one has BCP and OBC cards, it doesn’t matter. Same thing with this Q on Disc at wholesale clubs. P2 bought 3 vanilla MCGC this AM at BJ, and paid the 1500 with the Disc card, and the $17.85 fee with Citi Double cash. BJ is still 5.95 for these cards. Just saying.

You wrote this comment in the Citi Merchants post. That’s why I wrote what I wrote. I stand by what I wrote.

Of course, what you wrote is correct without the extra CB offer and that’s why I started my comment with “If you have either the 2.5% or the 4% offer on your CCC,”.

barrytuneup,

I went to my closest S&S today and they also cleared out all of the $5.95 variety and the only ones available for purchase had fees of $7.95 and $8.95. So this might be a company-wide policy change rather than just local to you. For comparison’s sake, I went to a different S&S only 3 days ago and they still had plenty of the $5.95 variety. Now they probably have none.

yup, the 5.95 cards available a few days ago are all gone, replaced with the 7.95 cards. Still profitable with the Citi CC, but now less.

I found Giant Food twice, for 4% and 1.5%, and the Giant Company, for 4%. Same Custom Cash card.

I enrolled in all of them. But then the no-stacking thing mentioned here … does this mean that I might get only 1.5%, depending on how Citi works?

Giant on both Dividend and CCC (1.5%) and Walmart (4%) on both.

On all Custom Cash, Custom Cash #2, and Rewards+ again.

I already see the $20.24 credit for March. The 5% cashback $25 for the Custom Cashes will be there when the statements close.

 Chuck,

This S&S offer is back. It expires on 6.30.25.

I didn’t receive the offer on either of my 2 CCCs but I did receive the 2.5% offer on both of my Dividends. This is perfect timing to go along with this quarter’s grocery category. 😀

This is a solid offer especially if 4% cb. S&S often has 2x grocery points for VGCs and up to 10x for other GCs. Premier gets 3x TY points at grocery, Rewards+ gets 2x, and CCC 5x.

Crazy that two supermarket chains have almost the same name.

I only have Stop & Shop near me.

Correction:
Giant Food Stores (logo is the big red ‘G’) offer is 4% until 3/31.
Giant is 1.5% until 4/16.

This Citi Offer is a solid deal for anyone who regularly shops at Giant or Stop & Shop. With a 2.5% or 4% cashback rate and a $30 max, it’s a nice way to save on groceries, which are already a major expense for most households. The ability to use it up to 12 times adds flexibility, but as always, it’s important to check the fine print to ensure eligibility.
Frequentmiler’s mention of additional offers like Rakuten and SimplyMiles is a great tip—though you’ll have to pick just one. Stacking discounts is always ideal, but even on its own, this Citi Offer provides a decent cashback opportunity for everyday spending. Thanks for the heads-up!

As usual, I got 4% on Premier and 2.5% on Custom Cash. My wife got 4% on Dividend. I see from a previous comment I made that my 2.5% was upped to 4% once, so I’m hoping it will happen again.
