Our Verdict

Some people have the option to cashout Citi  TYP at 1¢, if you’re going to do that then this is better value. Apple will be interesting to some people, and maybe some of the other options. We have been seeing around Cyber Monday , but otherwise 15% is the best we see.

I feel like iPhones have been such a let down in terms of value lately that throwing away Thankyou points at them would be a gigantic waste of an otherwise useful currency. Most people will be far better off getting a Pixel or Samsung device for a fraction of the price.

I agree with your sentiment but I doubt Apple fanboys will ever change. How else will they show off?

Let’s not have an immature fight about apple vs android. People with iphones may be invested in the ecosystem with Mac or maybe they have a lot of paid apps on it or maybe they just don’t want to learn another operating system or maybe Android’s design language isn’t as uniform as Apple.

And some Samsung are as expensive as iPhones. And a lot of people (in the United States) get iPhones for “free” with their contract and the Apple store would be beneficial for the accessories.

Speaking of this. I got an iPhone 11 for $49 by switching to Total by Verizon. I bought a $7 tello number to port. I also did it a second time for a Galaxy A54. Both unlock after 60 days. Even better, you get enough rewards to redeem for one month unlimited if you add a referral code/phone number. Easy money. I had a $1200 15 pro max and sold it. Great phone but the value isn’t there.

I really wish Apple let more than $2000 be loaded into your account. I’m maxed out and have too many waiting to be added already. With how expensive their devices are getting, they are overdue to increase it. I’m sure that’s easier said than done though. From what I could tell, the backend of the Apple Account is essentially a reloadable gift card and $2000 is the cap on any Apple gift card.

It’s not that difficult. It’s just not needed that much since you can load $2,000 and still use gift cards in the same order.

also depend on what GCs go on sale. fast foods like Subweed, BK and windy haven’t go on sale in the last couple rounds. maybe Citi should also carry Costie shop cards
