Our Verdict
This is the first transfer bonus Citi has offered to the Asia miles program, you can view a full list of all the previous transfer bonuses they have offered by clicking here. They are still currently offering a 0.5 point transfer bonus to Hilton as well. It’s worth noting that Asia Miles expire three years after they are earned (or in this case transferred) and it’s not possible to extend the expiry of these miles without paying a fee. Interestingly they just increased the sign up bonus on their credit card to 50,000 miles as well. This could indicate that a devaluation is on the way, or they just might becoming more active here. SPG & Membership Rewards points also transfer to Asia Miles but American Express has never offered a transfer bonus.
For more ideas on Asia Miles I’d recommend reading our most recent post on the Asia Miles credit card.
Asia Miles expiring in three years is the biggest turn off for me. otherwise, i would unload.
Personally I wouldn’t transfer if I didn’t have plans to use miles within three years, too much chance of a devaluation.
true. but AM is a very strong currency, especially for Premium seats on CX. its prime time for anything asia. using the OneWorld chart makes things very interesting. i would fear deval on AA or DL or anything domestic before AM.
