Dammit, shouldn’t have waited till the last moment. The thankyou.com site is down for maintenance, and the service center is already closed. Really misleading of citi to promote that you can do it till 11:59pm, when you really cannot.

Any way to transfer points to somebody else, like adding an authorized user with American Express?

Most underrated rewards program. Return from Tokyo to Atlanta was 280k with Delta’s “saver” space and only 60k on Virgin (same exact flight so it was saver). Pretty unbelievable they price it this way to their own customers and at 1/4th the price for virgin customers….

Great way to go, JAL F on outbound and Delta J on inbound. Nobody needs F after a 2 week japan trip anyhow when all you need is a damn salad and water….

Now if I can just avoid the typhoon Sept 4th my departure date…

Anyone transfer virgin to IHG recently? I had before and they counted as elite qualifying points (eqp). When the Amex bonus came out, I check flyertalk and it seems pretty 50:50 on whether or not they still count as EQPs.

Anyone done it recently?

Does anyone really care? The transfer is 1:1. Even if you took the 25,000 point bonus for achieving Spire it is still a poor return. When you get Platinum status with a cc, few people will find value here. Without lounge privileges, IHG is not a very exciting choice anyway.
I suppose if you needed a few thousand to close the gap to Spire it may be worth it, but if that’s the case why ask? Just do it! It’s only a few thousand miles. If you’re in this game that’s nothing.

I gave facts. But your comprehension is too low to grasp. Obvious from the original question….

You gave opinions, not facts about something unrelated to the question being asked. What you said was not hard to comprehend or grasp, it was just not relevant.

And your intellect shines on…..keep talking.
People read the comments section to get added value from the blog. When someone reads a comment like yours, they may wonder if there is some value they didn’t know about. Clarifying the very limited value in your comment can be helpful. The facts expressed are more useful than your question.
Please try harder to comprehend.

Thomas, thank you for sharing the comment. I had not thought of transferring from Citi to Virgin and then to IHG. Very helpful comment.
