Citi ThankYou Points 50% Transfer Bonus To Accor (1:0.75)

The Offer

  • Citi are offering a 50% transfer bonus when you transfer your Citi ThankYou points to Accor. Normally you can transfer 1,000 Citi ThankYou points and receive 500 Accor points and with this transfer bonus that changes to 750 Accor.

Our Verdict

Citi added Accor as a transfer partner earlier this year. Accor has a revenue based program where 2,000 points = €40 off the booking price. This is the first transfer bonus we have seen.

In the end, Citi is not a scalable points ecosystem. Hard to get excited.

They’re typically just good hotels with good locations, not over-water resorts.

Raffles Singapore and Faena Miami Beach are among their best known. But when the points have a straight cash value, it’s not like you’ll get an outsized great redemption.

Ok it’s Friday evening. Who will be a hero to calculate Citi points value with this transfer? I’ve already clocked out for this evening

Accor points are worth a flat 1.5 eurocents per point, which at today’s exchange rate is about 1.6 cpp. Not amazing but always nice to have more options

2,667 Citi points = 2,000 Accor points which equals 40 Euros
40 Euros = $42.95
$42.95/ 2,667 Citi points = $0.016/Citi Point

Add another 10% rebate for those with Citi Rewards+ and this is a decent deal

Link doesn’t seem to work, and is this targeted?

Not sure if it is targeted but based on the email I received from All Accor Limitless, I don’t believe it is. The website also had a link for more information which can be found at https://tinyurl.com/2p942w43 . It says the points will post in 2 separate transactions so likely the bonus is being handled by Accor rather then Citi.

If my math is correct this means you are getting 15 Euro ($16) in Accor points for every 1000 citi points? i.e. 1.6c pp. Not bad, right? (If you need to stay at Accor)
