Our Verdict
The standard bonus on this card is 30,000 miles, although it’s almost always possible to get this 50,000 mile sign up bonus from what I’ve seen. The real reason I’m posting this deal is because of the new Citi rules. More people will/should be interested in this card as it may be their only option to earn American Airline miles if they haven’t held this card in the previous 24 months.
Just got this card in-branch while opening the checking account that comes with the $400 bonus. Anyway the credit card offered only 30,000 miles for a $1,000 spend, which initially bummed me out, but it is probably a better deal overall for my purposes.
the landing page shows 50000 but when i click on apply now on the following page there is no mention of the bonus of 50000. Does it need to show to get the points?
If i do the same for AA executive personal card, i see the bonus verbiage of 60000 after clicking apply now on landing page
Would like to know as well. Thanks DoC
Don’t think it should be a problem, take screenshots with timestamps anyway.
I have two businesses, with separate Federal ID #’s, both legitimate (in business over 20 years). If I had a CitiBusiness AA Platinum on company #1 that was closed within the last 24 months, would I be eligible for the bonus under the 2nd company if I applied before the new rule goes into effect?
Thanks
Not sure, I plan to do a post on this in the future so if you (or anybody else) finds out then let me know in the comments.
I went to pending, called, and after an address verification check was approved.
Congrats!
just applied as sole proprietorship and pending review.
it gave me a application id and phone number to call.
I don’t have a real business, should i call?
Sure
called, held for 15 minutes while the agent processing the application.
nothing asked except the application id and name.
result: need to wait 24 hours for a manager’s signature.
Info on what Citi requires for business applications?
Can apply as a sole prop.
Will the new policy affect the people (like me) who has the AA amex and visa version cards that were opened in 2012 and still didn’t close them?
As long as you haven’t opened or closed a card in the past 24 months, you’re fine. You can apply for a card even though you currently have that card open.
Any info on the loophole for the business version? I opened one of these back in december but it was upgraded to WE awhile ago.
I’d also like to know if any loophole for this. Anyone?
