Original Post:
Citibank has added a $200 annual benefit for select subscriptions for those with Citigold relationship status. The following subscriptions are eligible: Amazon prime, Audible, Spotify, Hulu, TSA Precheck, Global Entry, Costco membership. Citigold is only available to those who have $200,000 on deposit or investments with Citi.
The benefit works on both monthly fees and annual fees. Renewals work too.
Pay for the subscription with your Citigold debit card and the cost will be rebated. You need to select the subscriptions you want and register before using the benefit. You can select of of the available options if you’d like, but there is a limit of $200 in annual rebates. You’ll see in your online login how much was used and how much remains.
The Fine Print
- Must register by December 15th.
- Any subscriptions purchased after 11:59 P.M. ET on December 30 will be counted toward your $200 allotment for the following calendar year.

- According to reader HR: The benefit is currently only for residents of NY, NJ and CT. Will roll-out to other states at a later date.

Citigold® Private Client (CPC) members get $500 and Citigold® members get $200 per new-to-Citi friend or family member referred that opens a Citibank® consumer checking account. You should receive a shareable referral link by email or be able to get one by speaking to a Citi relationship manager. Terms from previous referral periods: https://web.archive.org/web/20240219162224/https://online.citi.com/JRS/popups/MGM_CPC.pdf https://web.archive.org/web/20240722040324/https://online.citi.com/JRS/popups/MGM_Citigold.pdf
Citigold Private Client members get $400 Subscription rebate, not $500.
costco just raise membership price. anyone get reinbursed yet
I did. I paid my renewal Costco membership online on 9/4/24 for $130, and I got reimbursed for $130 on 9/10/24. The reimbursement fund went into my Citigold checking account saying “Debit Card Purchase Adjustment, Citigold CR Costco Rebate”
ok same for me it worked
can we get 2 costco rebates per year
Yes. Or just buy a $120 gift card (or $120+tax depending on state) at Costco for the second “renewal.”
Is this still valid for 2024?
Also I heard if it’s +tax it woulden’t trigger the credit. Since memberships don’t have tax.
Not Amazon monthly
Any folks receive a rebate recently? Renewed a Costco membership, but no rebate after a ~week.
Called Citigold and rep told me to wait 7-10 days. From previous years’ experience, it generally took 1-2 days, so a bit surprised.
Did you end up getting it?
My account had some technical difficulties so was not reimbursed automatically, so my relationship manager had to file a case for me about 10 business days after the purchase date.
That case was approved so I got my rebate a few days later
Did anyone try getting a Costco gift card or gift of gold star membership?
9/10 CitiGold account opened online
9/29 CitiGold e-mail received inviting to activate $200 benefit and did so online.
9/30 Confirmation e-mail that subscription rebate program now registered / activated
All this was with minimal funding, so the subscription invite e-mail is only tied to CitiGold relationship level and not meeting the funding requirement to keep it
If you don’t get it “automatically”, a relationship manager has to send it out. Bug your contact or maybe a branch near you to get the invite.
The customer must have received a direct invitation from Citibank to participate in this program – So not every citigold account will have this benefit? How does one get an invitation from Citi?
did you eventually get it
should be open for everyone, since its posted right on their homepage with offer details.
ya I opened citigold over 6 months already but did not get invitation
Any folks know if a partial reimbursement works, up to the $200 limit?
Say I purchase/get reimbursed $120 fo Costco membership. If I then purchase Amazon Prime for $139 + tax, would I receive $80 for the partial cost of Prime?
Thanks
I Google’d around. It looks like a partial reimbursement should work, per this Flyertalk thread:
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/33275583-post33.html
Yes, it worked for my Costco membership fee.
Thanks Eric — may I ask which subscriptions you paid for before the partial Costco?
Amazon Prime, then Costco.
will monthly amazon prime membership trigger the rebate?
Nope, it has to be $139. I think buying a $139 GC may work. Don’t know if anyone has tried it.
So you buy a GC and it triggers the reward? Did you do the same transaction? Does it work for any other purchases?
I received an email, but Enroll link is not working, not sure if it is a temporary issue.
To summarize, if I buy 139$ for a prime membership and potentially $60 GC from Amazon using a debit card, I would get $199 credit back into the checking account.
No. The GC amount has to be the same as the membership amount, so the system thinks it’s for the membership. I did it for Costco, not Amazon.
