Update 6/16/22: Points are finally posting for those who did it during the initial March promo.
Update 5/28/22: Initially people were struggling getting the page to load properly, but it’s reportedly working now.
Update 5/25/22: Offer will be renewed beginning May 27 – July 9, 2022. They also added a new 10,000 tier bonus for non-Premier United members.
The Offer
- CLEAR is offering 15,000 United miles when you sign up for a CLEAR membership. Members must be a MileagePlus Premier member to qualify.
- Regular MileagePlus members get 10,000 miles.
The Fine Print
- Members must enroll in CLEAR through offer landing page in order to qualify
- Please allow 6-8 weeks after completed qualifying activity for miles to post to your account. United® may change the MileagePlus Program including, but not limited to, rules, regulations, travel awards and special offers or terminate the MileagePlus Program at any time and without notice.
- Taxes and fees related to award travel are the responsibility of the member.
- Bonus award miles, award miles and any other miles earned through non-flight activity do not count toward qualification for Premier status unless expressly stated otherwise.
Our Verdict
This is the best CLEAR offer we’ve seen, previous best was $100 United TravelBank credit. Remember that you can get the CLEAR fee reimbursed if you have an American Express Platinum or Business Platinum card. CLEAR increased their cost from $179 to $189 in May 2022, but it’s only $119 for MileagePlus or SkyMiles members.
I had an existing account that expired at the beginning of July
7/7 – Sign up under a new email address
7/30 – Airport Enroll — which wasn’t a full enrollment.. they just asked for a bunch of information to link the accounts
8/7 – Credit 15k miles even though I don’t have premier status
10k miles posted 8/3. Never registered in-person (even though I tried to.)
I’ve went through the process to cancel it as I was unable to find a person at the kiosk to take my biometrics, and I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to just register in the security line directly. My spouse wouldn’t want to register anyways, so it’d only save me time on the couple of solo trips I do every year. The website said I’d get a prorated refund; not sure if points will be clawed back or not.
6/6 Signed up.
8/3 15k miles posted.
-Didn’t complete airport enrollment.
-Don’t have premier status, just the Chase United Explorer card.
-Had an offer to be reimbursed 50% at CLEAR on Amex Delta Gold card so I only paid $54.50.
Enrolled 7/4, 10K posted 8/2
Signed up online 7/8, completed enrollment at airport 7/9, 10k miles posted today. No fuss no muss

15k miles posted 8-3-2022
Do not have Premier status. Only have the United Gateway card for 15 k miles
Signed up 5-29-2022 and posted 8-3-2022 (67 days)
Used Personal AMEX Platinum Clear benefit for zero cost
the 15K miles posted today!
Signed up on 5/27 using a different email address (I already have an actual verified clear account), got the Platinum credit for it, never went to airport and verified, and 10k united miles posted yesterday.
How do you double-dip on United miles and Amex reimbursement? Amex says you must enroll at https://www.clearme.com/enroll/ but the link above takes you to a different page.
This is what it says for me (emphasis mine):
“Must first add offer to Card and then use same Card to redeem. Only U.S.-issued American Express® Cards are eligible. Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels. Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card. ***Offer valid online only at US website clearme.com.*** Valid only on purchases made in US dollars. Not valid for e-gift card purchases.”
Not sure what your terms say, but for me it clearly says I just have to signup at clearme.com and not clearme.com/enroll, so I’m inclined to think it’s double dippable without any extra legwork. But maybe this is YMMV
Thanks Rick
Dave You don’t need to sign up through any specific link to get the Amex credit. It’s like Amex offers where they say you need to click through http://www.website.com/amex but in reality you can click through a shopping portal and still redeem the offer.
Thanks Avi
