Update 7/5/20: Deal is back, there is now a zip code checker so hopefully people will actually be approved now (update: Seems like the same issue is occurring). Hat tip to reader REJECTION.
Update: Seems like everybody is being denied with the ‘Thank you for your interest in our Power Checking product. Unfortunately, you do not reside in our market and therefore are ineligible to participate.’ Because of this we won’t be adding this to our best bank bonus page.

This account has no monthly fees to worry about
Early Account Termination Fee
Bonus will be forfeit if the account is closed within six months of account opening
Our Verdict
Seems like a relatively easy bonus to meet the requirements for, it seems that they don’t approve accounts automatically so there might be some manual approval involved. We will add this bonus to our best bank bonus page.

Anyone receive a 1099 for the bonus? I have not.
Got a mailer for this in Denver CO, same terms but it mentions bringing the mailer into a branch, although there’s no unique identifier and it was addressed without a name.
I tried applying online but was declined. So drove to a local branch and was stonewalled, they enforced the ‘need to have mailer’ to get the promotion. Waste of a drive.
7/28 – Opened in person in Denver, CO
8/6 – $25 Discover Bill Pay
8/21 – $0.50 Comcast purchase per day (spread this out over 3 weeks)
8/24 – $225 Bonus Posted
“Offer valid thru 12/31/20”
Was hoping to open in Cuba City, WI. Live about 90 mins away and can’t open online. Will the promo apply automatically to my newly opened account since the terms do say ” by presenting mailer at time of account opening.” I do not have a flyer, just don’t want to make the trip for the promo not to apply.
My online application went pending and then was rejected the next business day, but I was able to go into a branch and open the account successfully.
07/29 – Opened in person in Fort Myers branch (FL) with $100 deposit, signed for online banking and estatements at the branch.
08/04 – $1 AmEx credit card payment.
08/05 – 15 Amazon $0.5 purchases.
08/06 – $225 bonus posted.
So when I tried to open online I got the “zip code you entered is not recognized”. Ended up opening in person. I had to call ahead to make an appointment. Some data points below for anyone that might be near a branch. Probably the fastest bonus to post I’ve ever experienced.
7.21.20 Account opened with $100 deposit
7.27.20 Debit card shows up and get signed up for estatements
8.4.20 ACH push from CCU checking and last debit transaction both clear.
(Push posted as A2A. Doesn’t seem like they are too strict on DD)
8.5.20 Bonus received.
Thank you for the very helpful data point. Is your ID address near either the Fort Myers or Naples Branch?
Neither. I’m in Denver but my ID says I live up in the Mountains. Went to the branch in downtown Denver. As far as I know that’s the only one in this area. Also no problem on the data point. Didn’t figure there were going to be many on this one since no one seems to be able to open online.
Bob Thank you
In FL and getting the following error: Unfortunately, the zip code that you entered is not recognized.
