Only some accounts are targeted, mine wasn’t. If yours was please post both the questions and answers in the comments below so I can add it to the post. This is a stable coin so no chance of being worth a lot of money in the future.

Not seeing it but I was just targeted for the ANKR coins that were posted here a week or so ago.
Not seeing it either, but I am months behind you. I got targeted for Clover (CLV) today – others saw it in July.

It should work.
It should. Terms state $100, buy or sell. Your friend just loses ~$4 in fees on each transaction.

Coinbase doesn’t charge fees for buying USDC; it’s more like just an alternative way to hold your USD balance. I doubt that USDC would count for a referral bonus.
USDC counts for the Referral bonus and there are no fees.
Shows a fee when I preview order… but I didn’t submit it.
So maybe it’s just cleaner to do BTC. Thanks

Data point – I was targeted even though I actively purchase USDC and have the Coinbase debit card. The answers below by SeanK are all correct as well.
Unfortunately I don’t appear to be as lucky
USDC is earning 0.15% interest on Coinbase, so in a year that four bucks will be a whopping $4.006.
Easy, trade it for something else.
Kinda weird that this is for a stablecoin rather than the usual ICO coin.
