Comenity Wayfair Cards Shutting Down, New Comenity Cards Sent Out

Awhile ago Comenity sent out a letter to some Wayfair cardholders informing them that their accounts would be closed on September 11, 2020 due to the co-branded relationship ending. In the last two days some Wayfair cardholders have reported receiving a Comenity credit card in the mail with the same credit limit. It seems if you received the original shut down letter you won’t receive this new Comenity card. The new card comes with a number of benefits:

  • $100 cash back when you spend $500 within 90 days of activating your new card
  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • 3% cash back at home furnishing stores (valid 9/11/20 – 3/11/21)
    • 1.5% cash back on all purchases

Many people with poor credit have/had a Wayfair card due to the shopping cart trick.

Wow! I couldn’t figure out why my login info has not worked. My last payment I paid by phone. I requested a new card last week by phone. Still waiting for this. I have received nothing regarding the account being closed. I did prior to this while trying to login to my account start googling issues. I found that their was a suit about zero percent on purchases for a period of time. If not paid in full then an annual rate and that they would still charge interest even though the purchase was paid in full prior to agreed date. I looked at my bill and sure enough I am being charged two interest rates. One on the balance that was suppose to be zero if paid in full by the date agreed. It was paid well before the agreed terms. And one on later purchases which I knew I would be charged on.

This is nonsense. Wayfair should contact the credit bureaus and have the derogatory marks taken off of our credit. I, too, had my account which was in good standing closed. Now I have this one derogatory mark on my credit score.

So, like everyone else in this discussion, I, too, had my account closed. At the time it was closed I had a balance owing so how do I pay that? I have been unable to get any assistance in this regard. Does anyone have any additional helpful information and/or suggestions? Thank you.

They’re so dumb to unlawfully play with peoples credit like this! Without my knowledge, they closed my account which was in good standing.

My balance was paid off! Which is even more disturbing. I did not receive a new card? It takes so much to get your credit to an acceptable level, I was hovering around 700 or so, This was a major setback for me as I amsure it was for others.

Yes, I have had this happen as well. My credit went down 78 points due to a decrease in available credit. It is totally unfair. What can be done about this? Please advise.

Same thing happened to me, very disappointing. My credit dropped but I still have a balance I’m paying for low quality furniture and horrible customer service.
