you know to save me the replying to everyone individually thinking inKind is ‘a venture capital thing’, i’ll just post this here from Forbes as to why their business model is pretty ingenious, highly original, completely sustainable and a win-win (“-WIN!”, thanks pam) for all.

Went back to an InKind restaurant last week that we had enjoyed. Loaded up my InKind balance at a discount. Got the bill, and it gave an error finding the bill number. Turns out the restaurant left the InKind network 3-4 days beforehand.
is the restaurant list not current on the app?
It should be, but in my case, the restaurant was still listed in the app. I don’t know if InKind had yet updated, but the restaurant wasn’t sharing the bill details any longer.
Looking now, it’s still in the app! Yardbird Denver.
Same thing happened to me – they gave me $10 credit.
I’ve ran my loaded balance down to < $20 and I’ll only spring for the Costco GCs if I know I have firm plans 1 day out.
It was a good run while it lasted but we can’t be surprised that the wheels are coming off what’s essentially a 30%+ discount to pretty good restaurants.

Is Thom a bot pumping inKind? The Forbes article is just a fluff piece from Forbes’ “contributor” network (i.e., written by some random internet nobody).
Almost as good as some of the chase/citi/amex offers, I picked up a couple. I was hesitant in the beginning but I’m glad I signed up and took advantage as the list of restaurants in major cities and even chain restaurants in suburbs is growing.
The best part is stacking these discounted credits with deals in the app; I had $15 off a specific restaurant as did P2, just last week we asked for two separate checks that were $60 each and each then paid the remainder with credit we had gotten at 50% off via prior Citi offer. Out of pocket for a $120 meal was $45 total (so $22.50 each actually paid after CIti statement credit). Amazing. And so far no one has hesitated to do separate checks!
You dont need to ask for separate check – you can split bill right on the app.
Can P1 and P2 both use offers if splitting in-app? I haven’t tried this yet

ooh good to know we’ll try it! separate check though can also be helpful to use two different offers in your own account – for example if you have a 15 off 30 and a 10 off 30 you can just do one for each check number. will see if this can be done with splitting in app
