One other thing to note, for online ordering it states,

Been buying discounted gift cards with my Chase cards everytime they offer at least a 10% discount. Learning though the old fable of gift cards not expiring can be somewhat false. At least Twice I’ve had to contact the manufacturers of some gift cards because they closed my ‘accounts’. But after a few conversations I was able to get them reinstated. Lesson learned to not but so many gift cards.
I tend to only buy giftcards I can load onto my account with said company and no longer have to keep track of the digital or physical giftcards.

These also popped up in my local Costco store at the same price, no limits.
There is limit of 2 per day. The cashier got a manager to stop me when I tried to buy 2 more with another cashier.
What about all the reviews on costco.com stating that when the gifts cards are loaded, uber raises the price of the rides by 20%????
Is this actually true? For ubereats orders this can’t really apply because the restaurants set the prices but for uber rides has anyone else noticed this?
For Uber Eats, people say they stop sending you discount promo codes if you have a gift card balance. But it’s hard to tell if that’s true or it’s just random. It might also depend on how many orders you make, e.g., if you use Uber Eats a lot maybe they’re less likely to give you discounts.
I knew there was a reason not to add any Lyft gift cards to my account until I actually needed them.
Not true for me. I always have a gift card balance of several hundreds and only order when there is a good in-app promo, which happens about once a month or every other month. Right now my account has a 40% off up to $15 dollars, delivery only. The so-called 40% off is only enough to cancel out all the crazy fees and tips anyway. If they stop giving me promos, I will just order food for pick up which the gift card discount can cancel out the restaurant mark up and net me about a 10% discount vs in-person price.
My Uber rides also cost about the same as Lyft. But my Lyft account also has gift card balance. I do get Lyft promos once a while too. Honestly the promos probably depends on your regional number of delivery workers vs. number of orders.
got a membership strictly for GCs. and if any deal pops up that would be delivered to home. It’s paid off already, rest is gravy. I’m not sure I’ve seen 20% on things like uber or doordash elsewhere, or at the very least its rare. These are dropping once a month.
One quick tip: Postmates uses Uber Cash, and at least in my wife’s and mine’s app, there’s a year-long promo applied for $0 fees for $50+ orders. Seems to be pretty common.
This applies to grocery orders too, so, in theory, you can get groceries delivered for the same cost, if not cheaper once you factor in the 20% off gift cards + tips and such.
Deal pops up regularly now, which i hope continues. You can purchase every 14 days. I’ve bought several $200 rounds for $160 this summer.
Cannot get 1 order through. Costco always cancels it despite not ever purchasing it.

I had to call in the first time. Once it’s cleared, the order went through. I then ordered 4 times this year without issue.

The 5% Chase Freedom cards is not an active offer at the moment right? The quarterly category for my freedom card is gas station, movie theaters, and select live entertainment. What is a good card to use at Costco if it gets classified as a warehouse?
