Whoops, didn’t know you could check out through IC, where you can buy $100 for $80 anytime from costco. Is this what others did, was on my phone doing it so didn’t know how to log into IC to process this, thought it had to be the Costco SD website

If carefully max out to $100 order you’d get $85 worth of product, $5 suggested tip, $10 profit, free guilt that you made private chauffeur drive your food around for bs pay and working conditions

Also Paypal. Last time I used this, I had a 40% back offer on Paypal for Instacart. Stacked it with Chase Freedom 5x.

I used a different email address when I signed up for Costco and Instacart accounts. I was able to link my Instacart+ membership under a different email address to Costco Same Day, but my Instacart credits wouldn’t show up during checkout. Are there any ways to get around this?
You cannot use instacart credits on sameday costco. However you can use instacart gift cards on sameday costco orders

It’s not giving me any option to apply my gift cards.
What I learned by accident with a purchase like this and having a GC code in hand – and it worked for the Same Day purchase I just made – is to apply the discount code first, then go back to the Cart and navigate back to the Payment section with the code already showing up and discount applied, the GC field is ready to accept a GC code.
My purchase was ~$141, then $111 after the $30 discount code, add $7 for the tip to get to $118, then applied a $100 GC (previously purchased from Costco for $75). Final bill is $18, delivered.
I have a stored Instacart GC balance, there’s no way AFAIK to apply that balance to Costco Same Day.
How much would you tip when ordering only one small item for ~$100?
Looking for genuine suggestion. Not trying to open a can of worms on tipping. I don’t do delivery often so really not sure what’s appropriate.
I look at it as time spent at store so if I’m buying like all stuff from the same section, I base my tip per item or if different sections, per section. I don’t like the percentage way, especially if only an item or two. Doesn’t really answer your question though. If it were me, and it was a quick $100 item during the week, with slow speed so they can do multiple orders, I’d go maybe 5-6 bucks. But it is a matter of how much you think they’re saving you in time but also have to consider the higher cost of the item given its markup.
Agreed. I think 5-6 might be fair for minimal work for one item that’s kind of easy to find. I just want to make sure I’m actually coming on top after tips and markups with this offer. At the same time don’t want to under-tip (or over-tip)

Depends on the distance too, and the day of the week, the COL in your area. Anyway, for me 10 bucks is pretty much the minimum nowadays. You don’t have to tip, but don’t be surprised if your orders get no decent shoppers assigned to them. Now, afaik Instacart has started to play dirty lately bundling orders so that shoppers have no clue who tips what but I think there is already some pushback.

Everything online from Costco is more expensive than in-store, but after upcharges and driver tip, still saved about $10 when compared to purchasing in-store.
Using Instacart gift cards which are sold by Costco saves and additional 20%. FYI as they are sold $100 for 79.00.
