Our Verdict
Excellent deal for Costco members. Not sure if it’ll work for Costco Cash cards ($200 + $50 or $125 x 2) or other gift cards. Terms don’t exclude it so it should work. There are also a couple of gift card deals now, including iTunes and Chef’d gift card. Not sure if the limit will be enforced based on the Costco membership (as the terms indicate) or based on the Visa Checkout account and credit card.
Costco is running ‘5 days of deals’ beginning today. Hopefully there’ll be some more useful deals in the coming days as well.
I wrongly said that this promo had expired, when opening in incognito mode it worked just fine. In addition I don’t see anything about cash cards being excluded in the fine print, I updated the image in the post just in case they do change the terms.
That is weird, since I was able to access it on incognito, but we’ll see what happens. I can always use $250 in Costco money, although I would rather not float it.
Yeah it’s very odd, I think they meant to kill the deal maybe?
Offer no longer available
Same with me. Opened incognito and i still see the offer. So went ahead and placed an order for 2x$125 cash cards. Lets see if it works out at the end.
Doesn’t work for me right now on incognito or regular.
I chatted for a while and they won’t budge. They said it was Visa’s decision and the Costco has only provided 3/26/18 before 3:44pm (I think that was the time that she said). My order was from that evening.
Keep pushing- they wouldn’t budge for me until I threatened to cancel my account
Will be getting my $50 credit even though I evidently ordered after the promotion ended early. Here’s part of my chat log at Costco.com:
Me: Dear Costco Team: I placed this order on March 26, during a promotion for $50 credit after spending $250 or more using Visa + Visa Checkout. I still haven’t received my credit and it’s been more than 8 weeks. Can you help?
Rep: I was able check and see that credit has not been issued by Visa Checkout. The promotion had been sold out at 03/26/18 at 4:44 PM and your order was at 7:40 PM.
And before I could respond…
Rep: I went ahead and issued a credit for $50 for you as a customer service credit to take care of this issue. I am sorry about issues with this.
Just got my credit
$50 credit just posted
Not yet.
Per my chat today on Costco.com….”So, notes indicate. Visa has begun processing statement credits – members should see the statement credit by end of day Thursday (5/24/18).”
Thank you for that update – I was about to contact them as well.
Thanks for the update. I’ll check back tomorrow EOD.
Did anyone get the credit?
Wondering the same.. I still have not.
Nope.
Called Costco today, Costco said I will get the $50 (6 to 8 weeks from order date) even thou charge posted April 6.
Is it from the date your card got charge?
Credit should be 6-8 weeks from the date charged/shipped is what it seems like. Per my chat with a costco rep today:
Me: Dear Costco Team, I placed an order utilizing a promotion that recently ran in March for $50 credit after spending $250 using Visa + Visa Checkout. I placed the order but due to demand, it did not ship until April. Do I still qualify?
Costco: Thank you. We have been advised per Visa and they are still processing the credits and we are to advise member that they should see the credit within 4-6 weeks from the ship date.
Got around 2 weeks of delay on charge for the cash card. Did anybody got experience that this transaction will still eligible for the $50off 250 offer?
Maybe need to call Costco to fight. We have the ad and Costco cannot deny it:)
Did the $50 credit post for anyone? Like many others, my Cash card order shipped in April and the charge posted days after the promo ended, so not sure if the credit will post automatically.
I highly doubt my credit is going to post. The BOA card I used now has a transaction date of 4/6 and a post date of 4/7. I just received the cash cards in the mail yesterday. Don’t see how the credit with post for those dates unfortunately.
Same dates for me, will just let it go. At least those cash cards are going to be consumed soon.. so no loss
Yeah, that’s the way I feel about it. Took a chance, but in the end, Costco cash is a cash equivalent to me. Not a big deal.
I placed the order at 8.46AM on 3/26 so well before the cut-off. The order did not ship until 3/30 and I see both posting and transaction date on the card are 3/30. Wonder if they’ll honor the promo. I expect it’ll take a fight.
I also placed my order on 3/26, for actual merchandise. Four different items and the order total was over $250. However, some posted on 3/27 and one on 3/28. Each item posted as a separate transaction, so obviously less than $250. Worried I’ll have to contact about this.
