BuyingMiles.Net Review – Legit Or Scam?

buyingmilesBuyingMiles.net is run by a man by the name of Bruce (you’ll often hear people on forums say, just sell your points to Bruce!) who also has a facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/flighthunter).

Are They A Scam?

Despite Bruce’s website only been around for a little over a year, there is nothing that points to this being a scam. You’ll find hundreds of positive interactions people have had selling points to buymiles.net.

We contacted Bruce through skype and he responded within 15 minutes. Asking us where we had found him from, along with a request to send the points we wanted to sell by e-mail to [email protected].

What Points/Miles Do They Buy And What Are The Rates?

BuyingMiles.net/Bruce doesn’t publicly state their prices for miles, we sent a price request in December 2013 and got the following quotes, these are prices were given for quantities of ~100,000 points – smaller point amounts will result in lower prices:

  • Starwood SPG: 1.54¢ per point
  • Chase Sapphire Ultimate Rewards: 1.525¢ per point
  • Flying Blue: 1¢ per point
  • American Express Membership Reward Points: 1.45¢ per point
  • AeroPlan(Air Canada)

Scam!! I spoke to Bruce who also runs BestMilageBrokers who called me a scammer for trying to sell him some miles. The man is not bright at all. I sent a screenshot showing I had more than enough miles and this guy says that proves nothing. Instead just saying he didn’t want to do a deal, calling someone a scam is rude especially when it’s based off nothing. I would not deal with this guy he must be on coke or something.

His business model is the SCAM, And he displays a contemptuous attitude to replies with his potential customers…. making it sound like its MY FAULT that he has flaws in his business model.. he keeps asking for more PRIVATE verification details and also namedrops random people he claims i know which is a privacy issue for the other party as well!! this is the kind of replies he gives:

RIGHT I don’t know you. would you send money to me without asking questions? I want to buy your points. But I don’t want to get scammed. So I ask questions to make sure I’m making the right decision for myself and my passengers. Im sorry I have wasted your time. But you have written me a few times and seem to be defensive when I try to qualify your account. So I apologize. I cant buy anything without verification. bruce

THATS NOT THE WAY YOU SPEAK TO A POTENTIAL CUSTOMER! DONT DEAL WITH HIM PLS!

really Albrecht? are you friends and family to that company?

Ive sold over $10,000 to this broker. His terms are all over his web site. It also is sent to you via email. Not sure why you guys are complaining when he does everything he says hes going to do. Ive sold to other brokers and have had issues. I would sell to bruce Again.

We agreed on a price, then comes the payment to Paypal and lo and behold: he used a credit card to send the money and passed the fee to me, leaving me with less money than expected. No communication after my suggestion to pay as initially contracted.

I had just the opposite experience. He said he wanted my miles, when push came to shoev, he really
didn’t have the money. Unless he alreadyt has a buyer for your miles, contrary to what he may say, there will be no sale. Buyer beware.

I had a recent transaction with milesbuyer and found him to be very responsive and he did offer me good rates. Will definitely recommend for those interested.
