I went to CVS today and asked about this. At first, the manager didn’t seem to know what I was talking about. Then he handed me a torn plastic bag containing 10 loose masks.
I’m not sure I’m comfortable wearing loose masks handed to me in a torn plastic bag.
I tried again today at a different CVS. They offered me the same unwrapped masks, although this time they kept the bag it came in and had me peel off the top three to take.
Are there any assurances that these unwrapped masks aren’t counterfeit, etc?

For anyone looking for comfortable N95’s, look up the “3M Aura 1870+”
Easily wearable all day and aren’t crazy-tight like the face-huggers. Bonus: will encourage you to brush your teeth before putting on. 🤣
Where do you actually buy these? I can’t find a reputable seller, and 3M’s website says commercial/industrial use only and theyre not available for consumer sale/use 🙁

I went to a local CVS a while back and asked if they had any of the free masks. The manager goes “sure, how many do you want?” I said a few, whatever you can spare. He brought me a case of about 400 and said here you go, no one wants them and I have to get rid of them.

Probably excess supply because nobody’s buying them.
This has been going on for a while. The CVS near me gave me 3M 8210 N95 masks (which are really uncomfortable in my opinion). They weren’t wrapped in anything, just 3 masks the guy grabbed from a stack behind the counter.
The 3M masks they gave me are sold in a box of 20 and aren’t individually wrapped. But it sounds like different stores are handing out different masks.

just a few days ago i went on a hunt for covid tests and masks.
first, know that cvs’ website lies about whether tests are available in store. it is utterly and completely inaccurate.
second, while i did eventually find tests, none of the 4 cvs stores i went to had any n95 or kn95 masks. two had no masks at all, and the other two only had thin paper masks.
“call” a cvs store? ha! that’s even worse than the website. you’ll either get connected to a call center in another country, or you can call the pharmacy, where they’ll “transfer” you to the store line, which will – surprise! – be a call center in another country.
For tests, I’ve just been ordering them from CVS online (free w/insurance) for in-store pickup. They keep a bunch at the front counter where they do the pickups so the orders usually get filled an confirmed (via text/email) within about 5 min.

i just wore the same mask not covering the nose every day when there’s a mandate. now that mandate is over, what is a mask ?
Why don’t you actually go to a CVS store and find out yourself? Because it sounds like you’re just asking for the sake of asking and trying to make small talk by spamming comments on every single article.
We’ve just been using the KN95s for years now, the one with the headstrap. They are about $16 for 10 now at bonafide mask. They have N95s for $24 for 20.
Bona Fide Masks is popular on r/Masks4All, along with some others, like KollecteUSA and BeHealthyUSA. I haven’t tried a lot of masks, but my favorite is the Bluna FaceFit, which is a KF94 and is pretty popular.
Prices are more or less back to pre-pandemic levels. I try to only buy from USA made manufacturers. You can find them at project n95. I’ve been buying the Aegle masks. You can also buy direct from them and use a coupon code.
Zoro sells N95 for $0.55-$1+ per mask ($50 to hit free shipping, and you can easily find 15-20% discount codes plus cashback).
3M (multiple countries), Honeywell (some made in USA, mexico or china), Moldex (USA), kimberly clark. just note that most masks are in a large sealed plastic bag, not typically individually packaged. Individual packaged ones are available but costs more
Zoro is a subsidiary of Grainger, which is a very large industrial supply company in Fortune 500, and Grainger is listed as authorized distributors of many N95 companies
I’m looking forward to the day there’s no need to wear them.
You seem upset that other people are wearing masks. What’s the problem if somebody else wears a mask? How does it hurt you if somebody else wears a mask? There is no possible downside to you, and there is a distinct potential upside (namely, if that person happens to be a carrier of COVID or another infectious disease at the time, his N95 mask makes it significantly less likely to spread the disease to you).
Benehal and Honeywell N95 masks are often available on Amazon for less than $1 each. Right now I see one style of Honeywell at $30.25 for 50 and another style of Honeywell at $13.99 for 20.

This totally cracked me up 😂

Hit me up, trolls.
Also, masks are a sign of respect nowadays, unless you’re wearing N95 or KN95
I don’t follow – why is wearing a N95 mask disrespectful?
Different Jack. 🙂
And I think they’re “trying” to be funny.
He’s trying to farm Reddit karma. He’s just don’t it in the wrong place.

Jack just copied your gravatar. Looks like you have an admirer.
LOL. He got so much backlash that he’s trying to blend in as the other Jack.

To each their own I suppose. If they want to play that game, they can have it. I’m over the age of 13.

zura I’ve had that issue too. Doubt there’s anything that can be done. Once someone has your email, it’s over.
Can anything be done,

William Charles?

Thanks. Did the guy wear gloves when they grabbed the N95 masks for you? You feel comfortable with him touching the masks?
sg77
They are individually wrapped. I live next to a target/cvs. I stopped by daily last week. sometime they give you 3, 4 or 5.
So you can ask for masks daily if they have supplies?
ted
They don’t ask for id or track you. There are no disclosure on 3 per life time or 3 per day. It just says 3.
I used to go in a few times a week at a CVS near me – the only one in the area that I know of that stocked the masks.
But a month or two ago they weren’t out anymore, so I assume they ran out and didn’t get any more shipments.
They should be individually wrapped. Maybe they gave you ones that broke from the packaging?

Thanks for sharing. I’d probably call ahead to check if they have N95 before going.
I bet those thin paper masks are coffee filters
Ever try calling a CVS? That’s why I use my local small independent pharmacy. Dying breed. Only thing CVS is good for is vgc for mser’s
Alright I may take a bet to see if a CVS still has masks left… I just don’t want to go to a pharmacy with some sick people in it potentially…

Is this limited to 3 masks per person? Household limit?

You don’t go to a pharmacy or a hospital if you don’t have to.
There can be a lot of sick people there and you could get sick
Well then, what difference does it make to you?
I’m looking forward the day when N95 masks become more affordable

How did you hear about Bona Fide Masks?
Have you bought from N95 Project?

May be worth checking Amazon.de. Germany’s had ample N95/FFP2 masks for two years. You can get a 30-pack for €16 shipped.
