Avoiding Fees
Simply checking, student checking (16-22) and prime life interesting checking (50+) all have no monthly fee. Update: Apparently only the Simply Checking account is eligible, so go for that one.
Early Account Termination Fee
I can find no references to an early account termination fee on their website, nor other websites covering bank bonuses.
Our Verdict
Previously they had the same bonus but it required a direct deposit. Most people will find it significantly easier to meet the 10 debit card transactions than a direct deposit so this should be a better offer. This is especially true since it seemed somewhat strict on what did/didn’t count. Will be adding this one to our list of the best checking bonuses due to the fact there is no monthly fees to worry about and it’s easy to trigger the bonus. If you need some help on how to easily meet the debit card requirement, read this.

William Charles If you didn’t see my email: $200 bonus – http://offer.fultonbank.com/CheckingPromo
DP on closing : zero balance for 90 days , received a letter saying they’ll close my account if there’s no activity within 30 days. So seems 120 days of zero balance and no activity can close for you instead of having to go in branch.
Ditto.
In branch, they accepted my $150 coupon I had e-mailed myself in April (expiration shows Dec 2018). Banker looked at it for a couple minutes, and said it was good. I have to wait a week or so to get the debit card via mail, and payout takes about a month after that I estimate. Hopefully it works. SO did this account bonus back in Jan and been closed since Feb, but it is the same promo so technically I am breaking the one per household rule.
I mentioned to the banker I had an account last year that I closed in October, but she couldn’t see it and said I was no longer in their system. When I registered for online banking, it pulled up my old bill pay info, so apparently some of my old info still crosses.
Update: Household rule is enforced. I thought since the accounts were not opened at the same time it would work. Contacted the bank via SM to see why I did not get a bonus. Two days later, said someone from my address had claimed the bonus. On to the next one.
Thanks for the DP, Gadget!
No problem. Just to clarify what I said, they weren’t opened at the same time, nor did the accounts even overlap. Fulton: P1 Open Jan – P1 Close Mar, P2 Open Sept – P2 Going to Close Dec. But, the promo was all year long, so I suppose I have no ground to stand on.

William Charles Link appears dead. I wonder if you have the non-expired coupon in your e-mail from before would they honor it in branch? I was going to experiment pushing the limit on household rules since SO no longer has an account, but now we have two strikes against this one.
Just a heads up – when I signed up for my account in branch on 8/3, I presented my emailed coupon but the banker already had a rather large printout of that same promotion on her desk so she was already aware of it. Maybe if you want to call your local branch and ask if this promotion is still valid?
Not sure if it will work if you already have the coupon, my guess is yes but don’t know for sure.
Link doesn’t seem to be working, is this still alive?
Link originally had you email yourself a coupon that was valid from 1/8/18 to 12/31/18. So maybe they are updating the promotion or got rid of it completely now.
DP:
6/19 – acct. opened
6/28 – 10 Amazon gift card reloads
8/10 – Bonus posted
Called Fulton yesterday 8/9 about the bonus not posting and rep said an inquiry would be opened with marketing department to figure out why bonus hadn’t posted. Posted today 8/10. Not sure why it took so long/didn’t trigger automatically.
PSA: do not waste food, bananas, under any circumstances. this is capitalism at its worst.
