You need an ID to get TSA pre check, you need an ID to get through airport security, you need an ID to get a drivers license, you need an ID to buy a car, you need an ID to buy a gun, etc. All of those are perfectly acceptable in our country but the minute you need to present ID to vote, well that’s just complete bullshit!

Don’t fly Delta if you don’t support their views. Or continue flying Delta because you realize getting butt hurt over their stance in politics is childish.

Saying that the Georgia issue is voter suppression is comical at best. I guess you weren’t upset when multiple states (Michigan, Wisconsin, surprisingly all swing states the dems needed!) illegally changed voter laws right before the election to make it easier to allow mail in voting, which was an easy way to get fraudulent votes in the door? Democrats crushed Trump in the election by a ton in terms of popular votes. So what’re you afraid of? It is still ridiculously easy to vote in Georgia even with these changes. Early voting, absentee ballots, etc. But my guess is Dems are afraid of Georgia making it more difficult to have fraudulent votes make it through which would make it harder for them to win!

Delta is my preferred carrier among the Big 3, so anything to make earning MQMs and MWDs easier is awesome. I expect the others to follow suit.

To all of the outraged above and below who have failed to recognize that Delta and Coca-Cola’s extremely belated virtue signaling on social issues is merely that and nothing more, please also note that your outrage will have no discernible impact on consumer behavior or on the billions of corporate contributions that continue to flow to partisan interests every year.

And to the outraged single-use commenters here who don’t even fly Delta, your outrage is a delicious waste of time but Delta thanks you for the free publicity.

Funny so many people hating on Delta for supporting voters rights. Don’t worry delta, I guarantee I pay more in airfare than all of them combined even after using my miles and points and have no intention of switching back to United and American.

You need an ID to check in luggage with Delta, and to get through security.

Not to get through security, no. The TSA does have a procedure for getting through without ID, which you’ll find if you Google. It involves a bunch of extra steps so you’ll need to budget 3-5 hours depending on airport, but you will eventually get through.

Are you sure about standard award flights that were purchased using Delta miles only?

Yes, check the 2022 Accelerator page on Delta’s site. The FAQ at the bottom of the page gives examples.

Politics, yes. I’d be joining in with you if they were sponsoring a specific candidate for a given office. Anything beyond that is not them getting into politics as far as I’m concerned.

Spelling is hard, *McConnel*.
Remember, corporations are people too and have rights (Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, 558 U.S. 310 (2010))
Repubs supported for it. Reap what you sow!
Voter discrimination is bad, thank Buddha corporations are doing the right thing.

You just need to stay out of this forum. If you have things of substance then please bring that up. I am not going with Delta because I don’t want that middle seat to have someone breathing on me for a while.

Yeah, because none of the other corporations donate to political parties or employ lobbyists. Delta is only doing this because it pissed off more of their customers when they said they supported voter restrictions.

I can’t believe they also support driving and flying restrictions! Why should I have to have an ID for that!?!

Well, the thing is, technically it’s a license that you need for the first, that’s why a state ID or passport won’t suffice if you get pulled over and why some places let you get non-photo licenses. As for the second, a quick Google will reveal that there ARE procedures in place to fly without ID, it just inserts a lot of extra steps.

And all those are aside from the fact that neither flying nor driving are Constitutional rights. Privileges such as those can and should be seen as separate.

Guess you won’t be able to fly United or American either since they are choosing to be on the right side of history? Oh and be careful what car you drive on the road trip I guess you’ll have to be taking. Heaven forbid you stop at the wrong restaurant that serves coke. Oh god. Guess you won’t be able to get gas from any gas stations that sell coke either. It must be so hard being a victim all the times. Maybe you should walk? But definitely not in any comfortable shoes. Crocs may still be safe. And wait, who wants to end the the “cancel culture”?
