  • Earn 1 Delta mile per $1 spent on Uber Eats food-delivery orders from restaurants and grocery stores. Only valid on orders over $40.
  • Earn two miles for every dollar spent on Uber Comfort and Uber Black rides.
  • Earn three miles per dollar on Uber Reserve trips.

Let us not forget the DoC article on Uber pricing. A person whose account is linked to Delta might well receive higher pricing to more than offset the points one earns. Wake up.

If you rent a car with Enterprise or Hertz and choose to earn Delta Skymiles, you’ll see a “frequent flyer miles recovery surcharge” ~$1/day. I have to imagine something similar occurs with Uber, but less transparently…

Postmates too, or just Uber Eats?

Uber is using google forms for the waitlist… that looks sketchy for a self labeled tech company.

I didn’t fill it out for this reason. Super sketchy.

Not sure why they aimed for such an inferior program to what Lyft is doing.

Lyft user base is very low in some areas. Most places should be fine though.

Enshitification. Race to the bottom. This partnership couldn’t be any more useless…

Root of commodification is in fact commode, so checks out that it is all going to sh!t.

But some spreadsheet brain got to say line go up, and that’s what matters.

The nice aspects of the previous agreement with Lyft were the 2x miles for airport rides, and then 1x miles for all other trips. This really incentivized riders to pick Lyft over Uber.

Delta probably wasn’t a fan of subsidizing that, so now it’s just 1x on airport rides, period. Really unfortunate for the average rider.

I doubt Delta is “subsidizing” anything. I suspect Uber is buying the SkyMiles and isn’t interested in incentivizing UberX trips, similar to their deal with Marriott

For the last ~3 years, Lyft airport rides (SFO or SJC) were about 2x-3x higher for me than Uber, so I earned a grand total of 0 Delta miles…

Did not see a clear incentive for joining the waitlist. Will hold off for now.

“Unlock the chance to receive exciting surprises from Uber and Delta”. Only reason to join the waitlist.

Can you double dip Delta and Marriott? I’m guessing it will be just one or the other

Probably not but I’d give Delta a slight edge because you can always redeem SkyMiles for at least 1 CPP (more like 1.15-1.3 CPP if you have a Delta Amex because of the discount on awards on Delta metal).

When Lyft launched their partner rewards program years ago with just Hilton & Delta, you earned rewards with both programs for each ride. Then they nerfed it to where you had to pick one or the other.

My guess is Uber will follow a similar path. At first you’ll earn with both Marriott and Delta, then a couple years later be forced to pick between one or the other.
