Our Verdict
No enrollment necessary for this offer. I got this one via email and many others sent it in as well, even those who got a bonus when signing up initially. Not sure if it’s targeted or it was sent out to everyone.
This is an easy value since Discover already offers a competitive interest rate in their savings account and this bonus bumps it up even further. You get an extra 1% bonus in just 2 months of holding the funds with Discover which amounts to around 6% APY extra on top of the regular interest rate, an easy win. The language implies that you can make cumulative deposits equaling $10k-$15k to meet the bonus requirement.
Separately, there’s a similar offer for new Discover Savings signups to get $150-$200 bonus with $15,000-$25,000 deposit.

Just got a promo offer to deposit + hold either 15K or 25K for two months, from end of April to late June, for either $100 or $200 bonus.
Small Print:

RDA may consist of multiple deposits made during Funding Period. RDA funds must be credited to Account by end of Funding Period. Account must be open when Bonus is credited by 07/25/2024. Bonus is subject to tax reporting. Offer ends 04/26/2024 and may be modified or withdrawn without notice.
Yeah… I got the same offer yesterday. The ‘opportunity cost’ of doing this offer with the $25000 deposit is about $43, as I earn 5.28% on my money in my current account, but would only be earning 4.25% for two months with Discover. So the ‘net’ bonus is $157. I’m deciding whether to jump on it. Need to make a decision within about 2 weeks.
Anyone know how I can subscribe to Discover’s promotional email offers? I haven’t been receiving any since I unsubscribed awhile back however I cannot find anywhere on their site to re-subscribe.
I called and asked the same question, their response was that I needed to use the mobile application to subscribe to get offers. They said they don’t send the offers if you use the website. I do NOT use the mobile application. I DID get a targeted email for the savings bonus, so that was wrong info. from customer service. I have had my savings account for 6 years and a credit card forever (maybe 25 years). I have NEVER gotten any of the credit card offers for 12 months/no interest. I guess you probably need to use the mobile application to get those credit card offers. Slickdealer
Just received a new offer by email, “Maximize your savings with a Boost Bonus”, deposit $15K for $150, or $25K for $200 after holding for ~1 month. Got the similar offer in May but did not use.
Got the same email. Can do a quick 15k transfer from Vanguard to Discover on 9/28. Then transfer right back on 10/31. Easy $150.
5/31: $15K in
6/02: Withdrew interest
7/03: Withdrew interest
8/02: Withdrew interest
8/03-8/07: Withdrew $15K
8/31: $150 account promotion
Will withdraw that too.
Received the $150 bonus today as ‘Account Promotion’.
$150 is posted today.
time to transfer money out
Got an email confirmation that I satisfied the minimum deposit amount. I had taken out the interest that I got at the first of the month too.
Chuck APY is now 4% for Discover Bank. Received this email today:
Good news! Your APY went up again
Check out your new APY* 4.00%
Add money to your account to earn more with your new rate and reach your savings goals faster at 5X the National Savings Average.**
The language in my email doesn’t suggest cumulative deposits will work.
I say that because it specifically states my current balance (of $3k) and says to add $15k and keep the $18k balance for the 2 month period.
It still beats the 5% alternative for me in VMFXX (Vanguard Money Market) but I don’t love tying up $15k for that size of a bonus.
