Our Verdict

Previously the bonus has been $100 for depositing $15,000 so this bonus is even better because at minimum you’re getting an extra $50 for the same requirements. The best part of this deal is that there is no deposit minimum length so you should be able to deposit the $15,000/$20,000 and then immediately withdraw it. In the past the bonus has posted 5-15 days after the deposited has been received. A lot of people like these Discover bonuses because they also offer a decent APY (1.15% currently), this is a good rate but there are better around. I will be adding this to the list of the best saving account bonuses. We aren’t sure if cumulative deposits will work, my guess is no but who knows for sure.

  • This is listed on the Best Bank Bonus page but the post has older info.

    New terms are:
*To get your Bonus: Apply for your first Discover Online Savings Account by 02/28/18. Enter offer code SD17 when applying. Deposit a total of at least $15,000 into your account by 03/14/18 to earn a $150 Bonus or deposit a total of at least $25,000 into your account by 03/14/18 to earn a $200 Bonus. Maximum bonus eligibility is $200 per account.

Also, the Direct link on the Best Bank bonus page takes us to this post rather than the Discover offer page.

  • anyone recd the bonus yet with a regular savings acct opened on 10/31 with the bonus code save917d1?TIA

    • family members opened AAA & AAII accts on 10/31, completed funding $20K few days after as I for the regular savings and did recd $200 bonus today. Does the bonus for regular acct normally take longer than AAA or AAII?

  • Bonus is cumulative!

    9/08, $15k deposit
    9/08: $1 deposit
    9/11: Pulled out $15k
    10/05: $150 promo received
    10/05: $150 withdrawn
    10/11: $5000 deposited
    10/20: Additional $50 promo received

So those of you planning to do $2000 deposit and withdrawal 10 times, that should work too!

    • Thanks for the DP.

To confirm, this was all external transfers out from Discover? I'm hoping to save time by doing internal Discover transfers (between checking and savings accounts) to total $25k, but don't know if it'd qualify...

    • You can't withdraw more than 6 times a month per some sort of federal regulation on savings account. Probably safer to do $5k 4 times.

  • Got bonus on 10/5. Does anyone know if I can just transfer the 20k over from regular savings to AAA to trigger the bonus on that one? Or do I have to withdraw to external and then deposit into AAA from external?
