Chuck There’s currently a deal in the Google Play app for a six-month free trial to Disney+ Basic (ad-supported). Seems to be targeted.
Highlights from the offer:
Claim by 12/31/24 in the Google Play app
“This offer is only available to 18+ select Play Points members who are new Disney+ subscribers on Google Play, while supplies last.”
Upgrades/cancellations void the free trial

Disney is doing this to boost their subscriber count for the next earnings report. They can take this new “fortified” subscriber count to advertisers to earn more revenue.
Disney content of the past few years has been quickly deteriorating in quality, and Disney+ is losing money hand over fist.

Don’t forgot that signing up the for their service also voids you from being able to sue them in future, even in instances where they might murder your wife. Sign up under an alias.

If you already subscribe to Hulu (perhaps it requires being the no ads subscription), you can add Disney+ for the same price as this deal, and no indication that it will last only three months.

Doesn’t have to be the no ads. I have a 1.99/mo sub to Hulu (with ads) and $2 Disney+ (with ads) add on.
Thanks for adding the data point. My Hulu is no ads, so that’s the only experience I could say for sure.
Ooh $4 per month for Hulu and Diznee sounds like a pretty good deal. Is this deal a 3 month promo?
