Do DoorDash Giftcards Trigger The Chase Sapphire Reserve $60 Credit? (No)

Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders now get a $60 credit for DoorDash. DoorDash sells gift cards and some users are wondering if these purchases will trigger the credit, the fine print states that gift card purchases do not trigger the credit but what the fine print says and what happens in reality are often two different things. Unfortunately in this case the fine print seems to be correct. Reddit user LurkingForPoints made a gift card purchase on 1/12 and still no credit has been received, whereas everybody else that has made a regular DoorDash purchase has seen their credit post within one or at most two days.

Doordash partnered with CVS early this year….does CVS purchases made in Doordash app qualify for the $60 credit, or is it strictly food/restaurants?

Turns out a DoorDash order on Jan 11th, the day before the DoorDash credits start, doesn’t work either…

You have to pay with your chase card to get the free delivery anyway. I tried using another card and said must use Chase to get door pass benefits.

Has anyone tried ordering with a gift card balance and still get door pass benefits as long as your chase card is set as your payment method?

I did. Paying by gift cards (purchasing from Amazon) still give the dashpass benefits (as long as you have your Chase card as default payment)

Thank you for putting the answer in the thread title! Hate all the click bait on other sites. Really appreciate the high quality of this blog. There are huge financial pressures to do things like the other blogs. Good to see such a high level of integrity here. Keep it up!!

Will Chase do anything nice for you?

Even better – after the 2 year complimentary membership is up you’ll be auto-enrolled for Door Dash monthly service fee. So if you don’t cancel it before 2 years you’ll start paying Door Dash for this “perk”

Good DP. Would have been a nice way to drain the credit for someone that had a card coming up against their renewal date. Thanks for posting this.
