DoorDash & Lyft Partnership for Benefits & Discounts

Lyft and DoorDash have partnered to offer special benefits and discounts. DashPass membership now includes discounted Lyft rides and free Priority Pickup upgrades. Lyft riders will receive free 3-month DashPass trial.

The Offer

Press Release | Account Linking

  • DashPass members get 5% off on-demand Lyft rides and 10% off scheduled airport rides, up to 4 per month (combined); also get 2 free Priority Pickup upgrades per month.

  • Lyft users can get a 3-month free DashPass trial for new members. Offer only valid for users that have not been subscribed to DashPass for at least a six-month period prior to linking their DashPass and Lyft accounts
  • DashPass members and Lyft riders who link their accounts by December 31, 2024 will receive:

    • 50% off up to 4 scheduled airport rides through the end of the year (up to $25 per ride)

    • 50% off one DoorDash order (up to $10), valid through 12/31/24

Our Verdict

A lot of us have free DashPass from their Chase cards; this is another way to get 3 months free. I’ll link my account to take advantage of the $10 discount and possibly an airport ride before year-end.

Longer term, I can hopefully benefit a bit from the Priority Pickup on Lyft rides. In theory I’ll also save 5-10% on rides with this new offer; in practice, we’ve heard speculation with similar benefits that the algorithms just increase the prices and then discount them. It’s difficult to know whether there’s any real savings or not, but hopefully it’s worth something.

Wow, this is a great deal! I have two airport rides that I need to do before the end of the year and can schedule. Will definitely use Lyft instead of Uber for them!

I’m trying to get the discount. I see the banner when I go into the Lyft app. But I got a new phone number and they won’t let me in no matter which way I try.

Update your apps before linking.

With scheduled rides, you can price compare between Uber and Lyft for the day/time you want to ride. You might not save 50% off an on demand ride, but you may save 30%, its YMMV. A decent deal if you are going to the airport before year end.

The Lyft free trial term is different from the Chase one.

***3-month free DashPass trial: Offer only valid for users that have not been subscribed to DashPass (whether on a free trial or paid membership) for at least a six-month period prior to linking their DashPass and Lyft account.

I see the 50% off on DD app, but haven’t used it yet. The expiration is confusing: on the one had it shows promo expires 01/20/25; on the other hand, the fine print says “must be redeemed 21 days after linking Lyft account.” Strange.

I see the banner for it now thats it linked but don’t actually have the option to apply it to an order. Maybe Chick Fil A isn’t eligible I guess.

The 50% discount is only for scheduled airport rides, which I believe are more expensive to begin with – I would not know as pre-booking is not available in my area

On another note, I see an email from UBER to link with BA to earn avios. I am already linked Uber to Marriott, anyone know does this stack on that

Had no issues linking. Started at DoorDash app. Good partnership. Nice bonuses. Thank you.

If you keep getting swapped between the two apps with nothing happening, make sure your apps are both up-to-date.

Great. Another service with a “discount” on a made-up ride fare.
