Dosh: Get 2% Cashback at Exxon/Mobil when Using a Linked Card

The Offer

  • Dosh app is offering 2% back in-store at Exxon/Mobil locations when using a linked card.

Dosh sent out an email about this offer, and you should see it in your Dosh app as well. Check the app for nearby participating Exxon/Mobil locations.

The Fine Print

  • Offer ends 7/10/2018.
  • Participating stations only.
  • Use a Dosh-linked credit card or swipe your debit as credit.

Our Verdict

Card-link offers are most ubiquitous at restaurants, it’s especially nice to see one for gas stations. If you use Exxon/Mobil regularly, this is a nice way to save a bit on your fill-ups until July 10th.

They also mention in the email that Exxon Speedpass users save $.10 per gallon when paying with Speedpass. This additional 2% back will work whether you pay with Speedpass or direct card, just be sure to link the card first with Dosh.

If you’re giving Dosh a try, appreciate if you use my referral link to signup. You can also find other referrals and leave referrals in this dedicated post. (Dosh tracks the signups through the app download process.) You should get a $5 signup bonus as well when you link a card and make an eligible purchase.

Update: A reader notes that Swagbucks Local is also offering 2% on Exxon/Mobil in their area. Can’t link to both Dosh and Swagbucks – it’s one or the other.

Looks like this was extended indefinitely. Now just says “Offer Valid from 6/25/2018. Maximum individual award 250 dollars.”

Also am curious if a card can be linked to both Dosh and Drop. Also would that affect card linking to the airline restaurant rewards programs? Is there a post that talks about this?

I think this post is the only one I’m aware of that talks about it. It doesn’t look like Dosh and Drop would conflict.

Dosh, Drop and Spent all seem to play well together

Swagbucks local is also offering 2% back on Exxon Mobil in my area.

Unfortunately it’s either Dosh or Swag…..can’t link same card to both…

I assume since the Mobil stations near me aren’t showing in the app, that my stations aren’t participating.

Two questions:
1. Lets say I have a card linked to dosh and drop. How is that hoing to work? I assume because only one app will give cashback, that will be the one I linked later works and the first app unlinks?

2. Lets say I would like to link Amex everyday to drop, and blue cash to dosh, providing my amex login to both apps, can I get cashback from different apps/cards but same amex login?

If you try #1, please let us know the results. I’ve often wondered about 2 apps linked to the same card.

I’m currently using Drop+ Spent, no issues. Stacks Amazon, Uber and Whole Foods for a combined 2-3% extra off. No problem using the same card across apps or the same merchant. I’ve looked at Dosh but haven’t added it yet.

I just added Dosh. No issues with cards being linked across Dosh, Spent and Drop. Card was flagged by Dosh for already being on Yelp though and needed to be removed on Yelp before proceeding.

That said, Dosh’s offerings are kind of mediocre even with this gas bonus. I’ve picked up hundreds from Drop and Spent this year, I’d be surprised if Dosh gets me $5 beyond their signup bonus given my limited spending habits at the kind of restaurants listed.

Can you prove dosh and spent don’t conflict? I was pretty sure they used the same backend and should conflict

Thanks for letting me know. I still new to this, and haven’t signed up for Drop yet, and never heard of Spent. Good news indeed.

Dosh requires the card number while Drop requires the account info (also allows you to choose individual cards within that account).

You should be able to link all your cards to both Dosh and Drop and there should be no conflict. I chose Walmart as one of my five “primary” stores on Drop and for a while my Sam’s Club purchases would give cashback on both apps.

Good deal here with gas prices rising.
