Drop: Get 60 Cents Per Uber Ride

Update 1/25/20: Seems to be back down to 50 cents per ride now, for me at least.

Update 1/14/20: New email is being sent out with an offer for 60 cents now (up from 50).

The Offer

  • Check your Drop app for an offer to get 500 points (worth 50 cents) for each Uber ride

The Fine Print

  • Must add offer first
  • Offer may be targeted for select Drop users
  • Must click through the Drop app for each ride; must complete ride within 2 hours of clicking through
  • Not valid on UberEATS

Our Verdict

Offer may be targeted. A bit of a pain since you have to remember to click through each time, but could be useful for frequent Uber users. Dosh is supposed to add an Uber deal soon as well; might be possible to take advantage of both. Update: Dosh is offering 80 cents per ride; I believe it requires a click-through, so probably not possible to take advantage of both.

New Drop users can sign up with our referral code: doctorofcredit and get 5,000 points ($5).

To all the posters that claim that you can tip on Uber when you use Freebird have you actually tried it? I’ve tried it a few times in the past and it did not work. I even have emails from Freebird customer service explaining why it does not work. Based on the discussion points below I tried it yet again. I opened up the Uber app and the tip button is there to tip but it does not work- the tip will not go through. Freebird continues to tell me that this is due to a system glitch and you can only tip using Lyft. Uber does not like their service so they will not fix the system glitch for Freebird.

I guess Uber is offering partners $1 per ride.

I did this in June quite a few times. Never tracked for me and still fighting with Drop about it. Maybe since I used uber cash there is nothing on my credit card to prove it. Not worth the headache IMO.

I assume it’s not possible to combine this with Freebird, or Dosh with Freebird?

Cannot see either offer. Perhaps I was not targeted in Drop. I still have the regular offer they always had, though.
DOSH maybe is targeted as well. I do not see it at all. Any one else experiencing the same thing?

I like the freebird offer better since you can cash out for actually cash. It also offers 50 cents per ride and often times more.

But you can’t tip if you use Freebird or did they finally fix that

I like Freebird too – but another downside is I don’t think it works abroad, doesn’t work for Uber pool/Lyft equivalent either.

It works with line and pool as long as you’re riding by yourself, it just doesn’t let you set the number of passengers to 2.

I’ve been using it for many months and have always been able to tip. If you open the Uber/Lyft app after requesting the ride through freebird then it shows your ongoing ride like normal and you can do anything you’d be able to do had you not used freebird to request it.

Thats true you can’t tip :/ I don’t know why, you can tip with Lyft using freebird.

You can tip. I usually just request through freebird then manager it through the uber/lyft app after that. You can change between personal/business on freebird but can on the individual app which i need properly coded for work.

Once my ride on freebird is accepted I open Uber app and then from there you should you able to tip once your ride is completed.

500 points = 1$ on freebird.
