Our Verdict
Update: Looks like redemptions have increased in cost massively.
I’m not that familiar with what the Dunkin Rewards program used to look like, I know a lot of people are unhappy with the changes so I’m sure I’m missing something.
They have an awards program?
Yeah, spend $50 get a free coffee.
Dunkin has turned into complete garbage
Service is inconsistent. I live across the street from one – so a bagel w schmear, tall coffee, and chipotle breakfast sandwich hits the spot on a cold day. Sometimes it’s nice young girl who says have a great day.
Other times it’s the lazy employees and frequently the chipotle wrap is ice cold. Have to microwave it myself. Oof.
My morning large coffee was $0.99 at McDonald’s and is just as good and I get much better doughnuts at Jewel Osco baked fresh for a buck each as well. Dunkin has fallen so far I used to go there every morning but now it’s maybe once a month and I don’t even bother with the rewards….
No one cares about your opinion on McDonalds being better. This post is specifically about Dunkin rewards. Keep it on topic.
What about the 5% interest environment?
What about if you stop posting?
Turns out I don’t care about your opinion that you don’t care about Rick’s opinion on McDonald’s being better.
Sure, I suppose it was a fringe comment, but some of us find it relevant to Dunkin’s nevertheless. The post specifically mentions that redemptions have gone up in cost massively. Further, the update concludes with, “I know a lot of people are unhappy with the changes so I’m sure I’m missing something,” so frankly, getting comparative input from someone that used to shop there regularly (at Dunkin’s) is a data point.
Your reaction makes me think you got upset because your brother owns a few franchised locations.
DD is getting influenced by airlines….. devaluation is deep in their veins…
Looks like I’ll continue not visiting Dunkin. Fast food overall has become too expensive. Over $2 for a single donut, $3 for coffee, $6 for a sandwich. Convenience food is supposed to be affordable. It’s like Dunkin doesn’t want my business. McDonalds is eating their lunch with better app deals. My local McD has $1 iced coffee everyday. Taco Bell even has cheap breakfast. That brings me in.
Careful, Ali. “R” is very upset with anyone who says anything unflattering about Dunkin’s. It doesn’t matter how bad their rewards program has become, if you dare to compare their promotions to deals at their competitors, you’re going to get called out.
“I haven’t used DD rewards since the last deval, and I just came here to say that plus that I also miss the good ‘ol days of cheaper coffee and gameable loyalty programs. Please upvote if you are also feeling nostalgic for 2014.”
No one cares.
Oh, I disagree. There are twice as many upvotes to the original post than yours. Clearly your opinion that no one cares is only half as popular as those who agree that Dunkin’s rewards isn’t worth using anymore.
It is crap I liked their free donut with drink purchase on Wednesday. Now terrible.
I miss Dunkin Donuts from 1999-2000. Their coffee coolattas used to be so good – crushed ice and potent coffee flavor. Now it’s a slush mixed with syrup.
First, they wrecked the restaurants. Used to have counters where people could sit, get refills, gab, and have a fresh donut. Wrecking the restaurants wasn’t enough, so they wrecked the food. The donuts used to be fresh, bigger, and good. Now, they’re meh at best. Plus, do I want my donut shop pushing frankenfood on me? I think not. Now they’ve moved on to wrecking the rewards program.
Their coffee is good. It’s all there is left to wreck and the way things are going for DD, that day is coming.
So THAT’S why my local dunkins always has the dining room taped off….
