Update 11/5/18: Looks like this is only valid for select sellers who use Ebay Managed Payments, and don’t accept Paypal. Here’s a sample seller.
The Offer
Direct link to offer (our affiliate link)
- eBay is offering $5 off $10+ when you use the promo code PERKFIVE.
The Fine Print
- Valid from 8:00 AM PT on November 5, 2018 until 11:59 PM PT on November 6, 2018
- Coupon can be used once per eBay account, within a single transaction (or cart), while supplies last. Only eBay users registered with an address located in the United States are eligible for the Coupon. Valid only for purchases from ebay.com. Any unused difference between the discount amount, as shown on the Coupon, and the purchase price of an item(s) in a single transaction (or cart) will be forfeited.
- Coupon is subject to U.S. laws, void where prohibited, not redeemable for cash, has no face value, and cannot be combined with any other Coupon, or when paying with PayPal Credit Easy Payments or Gift Cards. eBay may cancel, amend, or revoke the Coupon at any time.
Our Verdict
Doesn’t look like it excludes gift card purchases, but you can’t use gift cards to pay. PayPal Credit Easy payments are also excluded, not sure if regular paypal is allowed or not? I guess we will find out soon enough. As always you can use our affiliate link here or go through a portal for another 1% cash back.
I tried printer ink and it said This code can’t be applied to your order.
This slickdeals post used to have a list of sellers who are eligible but the post has been deleted. I can’t download the Excel file from the cached page 🙁

If anyone has it, please share. Thanks!
I found my example product above by searching descriptions for “managed payments” – won’t find all of the participating sellers, but does find quite a few who mentioned it in their description. Unfortunately someone replied that the code isn’t even working on that example, so it’s probably not worth bothering to look for more right now anyway.
The code still works for me on the item you provided. But I don’t want to buy it 😀
I tried searching for “managed payments” but it doesn’t return any office products 🙁
I remember last time I was able to figure out sellers who sell office products from their names. I should have saved that excel sheet. I wonder how it was generated!
I could post a list, but it is pretty spammy looking (comma separated list,
a couple of thousand)
Use pastebin.com?
I still had the list. Here it is in pastebin https://pastebin.com/x5ML5JXX
I am on the hunt for cheap baby stuff but haven’t found anything worth it.
Thank you. This should help everyone!
Not sure how you are searching but you can put about 400 sellers at the once in the refinements 🙂
Like a couple of other recent Ebay promos, I think this might only be valid for sellers using Ebay Managed Payments (those who don’t accept Paypal). Here’s an example someone could test with if you want: https://www.ebay.com/itm/5x-USB-Home-Charging-Kits-8-Pin-Cords-Wall-Chargers-for-iPhone-8-7-6s-6-5s-X/261408279836
Updated, thanks Ann
i would change the title. makes it much more clear. maybe add something about “Ebay Managed Payments Only” or Limited Sellers or something.
Done
u da real MVP.
dosen’t work either………..
Darn. That’s what customer service had told someone on SD when they called, that it was only for Managed Payments sellers. I guess Ebay just screwed this up completely. Some people had managed to get $5 credits applied to their account by calling Ebay earlier today because this offer was so screwed up, but apparently they’re tightening down on giving those out after too many people have called already.
I tried buying a $15.95 item from him and the code could not be applied.
Is it good on postage stamps? Somebody go look and report back.
It doesn’t work.
Does not work
Time to remove this post.
tried it on stamps, drill bits, and a tool. nothing worked
Thank you for investigating. I was trying to think of something I might use. How about printer ink?
Not working 10:36am CST.
Not working at 8:32 Pacific time.
Still not working. Have tried several different orders.
Tried in vain to apply it to a book order.
