Our Verdict
Previously this was getting a $50 statement credit signup bonus with $150 spent on eBay; now it’s $150 statement credit with $500 spent. They just ran a similar offer last month, except then you needed the $500 spend on eBay whereas with this offer you can spend anywhere.
Some will find $150 cash signup bonus worthwhile, especially now that you can do the spend anywhere which makes it easier to deal with.
Hat tip to reader Matt K
Has any one received their 150 statement credit already? i havent and im sure i spent within the timeframe and a little over 500, actual spending.
I am in the same spot, and have not received the $150 credit yet either.
Got it!

Ebay statement credit reward -150.00
They directly waived $150 from my balance. Although it didn’t show as credit transaction like any other spendings.
just got mine. it posted a statement credit when the statement was finally generated. My payment due date was the 17th and it just barely did a monthly statement at midnight.
Got my card in the mail today. In fact, they send 2 cards for some reason…they are duplicates, I guess they just want to make sure you have a backup. Gave me a $300 credit limit and when i applied for an increase to $500 credit limit, I was denied and told the reason would be sent in the mail. Pretty ludicrous, I have a good credit score and have never seen a limit this low before. Frankly, I kinda saw it as a manipulative business practice to not give me enough of a limit to meet their bonus terms.
After getting denied over the phone for the credit increase, I had the issue elevated to a supervisor who gave me a $50 statement credit for the inconvenience and informed me that I could still meet the requirements by maxxing out the card, paying it off, and then almost maxxing it out again.
VERY tedious process, but the cheapskate in me was sated by the $50 statement credit. 🙂
so you will get 150$ + 50$ ? 🙂
AndreRamirez I got the exact problem but I didn’t get the 50 dollars statement. I just made a purchase today. I am not sure they will allow me to pay the credit card off before the statement closes, tho.
On top of that, I don’t have the full 30 days because it took 18 days for the card to arrive.
Brazilian Yeah you gotta call them, get it escalated to a supervisor, and make a big deal out of it or else they wont give the $50. And they will accommodate you trying to meet the spend limit early, after I paid off the card the first time they said that it would take 24/48 hours but I explained my concern with the 30 days thing and they said they would let it post immediately so I could meet the $500 spend goal. I bet if you explain how long it took to get the card, they would extend your deadline.
AndreRamirez Thank you, sir! I will call them again. My purchase hasn’t posted yet but as soon as it posts I will try to make a payment. Hopefully, their 1800s system will allow me. As of right now, I am able to link that with my bank, but I still can’t make any payments.
Brazilian No problem, and good luck! Let me know how it goes.
haha yep, funny how quickly that shifted my attitude
AndreRamirez wouldn’t that mean you have to spend $550 now since the $50 credit reduces your balance?
tobago_88 Nope, I asked them about that and they said as long as I spent the $50 its counted towards the $500 total spend needed.
It has been a week since approval, which I presume if the account opening date, so at this point I’ll have 3 weeks at the most to earn the bonus, unless I go the eBay spending route (which they only told me about 6 days after approval, I believe).
Issuer says that the card will take 5 – 10 business days to arrive, so it could be 2 weeks or less to do the minimum.
Applied and approved on 8/9, still waiting for the card to arrive as of today.
I got a letter saying I was declined due to “high risk source of application”. I applied using the link from this website. I never got an alert of any credit inquiry.
same here… what does that mean?
They know they’d lose money with your app.
Their sign up offer is getting better with each period, I’m curious if $200/$500 is coming sooner than later. Gotta meet their fiscal quarter it seems.
Damn and I just brought a phone.
Otherwise I’d never normally spend that much money on anything.
Got an $8000 CL . But only $500 initial CL before the card arrives in the mail.
The card number was not given. So the initial $500 can only be used on ebay until it arrives.
Ebay does not accept split payments, so unless what you buy is exactly $500, it’s impossible to meet the spending requirement. If your shopping lists adds up to $500.01, no dice. This is really stupid on Synchrony’s part, IMO.
Instant approval temp CL $500 with a max of $800. Looks like the hard credit was from Trans.
Glad I got this one approved. Hope I get the card in the mail soon. I recently got Chase cards shutdown so not much to fear there. They sent me a text to verify identity then got immediately approved for an immediate $500 credit and total of $6000. I am way past the 5 / 24 so these bonuses make me “happy.” Thanks DOC!
Why was your Chase shut down?
too many recent inquiries & new credit accounts, that’s the only explanation i received
Why doesn’t the PayPal MC have a similar sign up bonus? Only $50 for $500 spend.
becuz this is Ebay now. PayPal and eBay are no longer together
