FICO (Fair Isaac Corporation) announced this week their new FICO score open access initiative. Their stated aim is to provide increased transparency and consumer empowerment by providing free FICO scores to banks and credit card holders.
The first two partners are the Barclaycard and First Bankcard, but they expect that 25 million consumers will have access to their score within the next twelve months.

BarclayCard:
Barclaycard will be rolling this out across all of their cards and this is expected to be finished by early 2014, according to their facebook page. FICO Score Offered:Â Â FICO Risk Score, Classic 08 also known as FICO Risk Score, Classic 8 (sometimes shortened to FICO TU-08)
First Bankcard:
First Bankcard is the credit card division of the First National Bank of Omaha. It’s main business revolves around credit card partnerships. They are a top 15 credit card issuer with over 600 partners, the open access program will be slowly rolled out to these partners.
Card holders with “First National Bank of Omaha” branded cards will be the first to be offered access to their scores.
Score offered:Â FICO 8 BANKCARD score by Equifax (also known as (EQ-08 Bankcard enhanced)
Discover Card
Discover are another massive card issuer, free FICO scores will be made available to all card holders in the next four months. In the mean time, IT card holders can get access to their  FICO scores starting from the 19th of November, 2013. Read our blog post on the announcement.
Score Offered: TransUnion FICO score – version unknown.
Walmart:
We’re unsure if Walmart branded credit cards are actually part of the open access program because they been providing free scores since mid 2011 (two years before this program was announced) but we believe it’s worth adding to the list. Read our full blog post on getting your score from Walmart.
