Fidelity 2% Card Targeted Spend Bonuses – up to $20 Bonus

The Offer

Direct Link (requires unique offer code)

The Fidelity 2% Visa card from Elan is sending out a targeted ongoing spend offer. Offers are

  • Spend $xx amount [insert amount like $350, $2,900, $4,400, $6,200, whatever] and all spend beyond that will get an extra 1 point per $1 spent

The Fine Print

  • Promotion period is from March 1st through April 30th, 2019
  • Must enroll in this promotion by March 31st, 2019

Our Verdict

These deals come around frequently, last time it was offered it was only a 20% earning bonus (e.g an extra 0.4 points per dollar spent) rather than the full extra point per dollar spent.

Got one of these in the mail today but it was the crappy 20% points bonus. And it didn’t activate until after $600 spend.

My offer email came on May 31st and has this at the bottom: “Be sure to enroll in the offer by June 30, 2019.”

You can technically get more back with the Chase Freedom Unlimited 3% on up to 20k spend in the first year (and IIRC those are given in the form of UR points which can cash out for even more), however if you’re 5/24, have one already, or avoiding Chase aggro these offers can be pretty nice. I’ve found the Fidelity offers are usually better if you’re paying more on the card, so I pay 1040-ES estimated taxes online at a 1.87% fee and get a tiny fraction back + whatever offer comes for the quarter.

I got the offer but when I tried to sign up for it, I was told I missed the signup period. Not a great user experience…..

I tried calling into the toll free number I received on the mailer and enrolled that way; it worked. I also had the issue when enrolling online.

Were you within the stated time frame or not? If not you don’t have a gripe.
