Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
They offer a free checking account with no monthly fees to worry about. The savings account has no monthly fees to worry about as long as you have a balance of $200+
Early Account Termination Fee
If the account is closed within three months you have to pay a $26 fee, you also forfeit the bonus.
Our Verdict
Previous bonus was only $250 and had to be opened in branch. This is a better bonus but no savings bonus component. It’s a shame that the stanley mug looks branded so can’t sell that off.

Any DP’s on in branch as an out of stater? They’re not on Doc’s list.
I think you need to remove the freeze, not just temporarily lift it. I lifted and tried a few times, and when I removed it got this message. Rep said they can only override this in branch:
You have reached maximum number of allowed application submissions within a 30 day period.
I thought the offer was pretty good, so I hopped on it and was approved. Some small things that is annoying about this bank:
Still gonna do it because it is a good offer, but thought others should know.
Any DP regarding hard/soft transunion pull when chex is frozen?
Do you need one $500 DD or $500 DD every month?
That is a good question. My understanding is that it is every month. Could anyone confirm?
I called them and was told at least one initial DD and one more DD after that. So at least two - but potentially more, depending on how long it takes to recognize.
what's with the suddenly number of these small banks being posted?
The more offers posted, the merrier!
Instant decline, lol
Tried a few time and removed Transunion credit freeze, but got declined
Was it a TU hard pull?
I did the last bonus and used TrD for the DDs and the bonus posted automatically. I recently picked up the Ring Doorbell Camera from the branch that I opened the account at. 😀
Eric, can you share the details of TrD and DP for Trustco
Did You made 500 bills for each month ?
How did you receive the door bell. Is it been delivered?
I did $600 T-Bills each calendar month. I had to pick up the Ring at the branch.
Thanks @guest_2047224. How long it took for bonus posted after first DD. 60 calendar days in their terms counted after our second DD?
The bonus posted a few days short of 60 days after the 1st DD hit my account.
I just checked for you. The bonus posted exactly 1 day after the 3rd DD hit my account. That may or may not have been a coincidence.
@guest_2047224 Any idea as to why I unfroze Transunion and keep getting an error saying I need to unfreeze it when I apply for this bonus?
Does it need to unfreeze Transunion if this isn't a hard pull?
Yes, I do. I remember reading a DP in some other post that unfreezing a credit report doesn't always happen instantly. I would wait a few days and then try again to apply.
BTW, I'm surprised that you freeze your credit reports as I recall you telling me that you never freeze your Chex report. I am the opposite. 😉
@guest_2047224 I appreciate your time and help. Thank you for the information. I started freezing my credit after P2 passed away. I didn't think Chex was an issue.
What's TrD?
It's the abbreviation that I use for TreasuryDirect.
Got it.
how did you get offered the doorbell, Id rather that then the Stanley cup
Receiving that was part of the offer that I signed up for last year. That offer is no longer available.
Anyone with successful CC funding?
I funded $50 but as @guest_2047046 mentioned it coded as a cash advance - $5 Fee :| . This was Spark Business Card. @guest_2047209
Wanted me to unfreeze Transunion. Not sure if it is a soft or hard pull?
