Our Verdict
These are some excellent deals. Amazon is obviously a big deal and Sam’s gift cards can be used at Walmart as well. In the past, these types of deals have sold out early.
Reports are that Amex Business Gold to earn 4x if it’s one of your top two categories. And reports are that it counts as Online Shopping for BofA cards and Blue Cash card and ShopYourWay card. And it counts as Computer Software category for BofA Customized Cash Rewards cards and for 1.5x on the Business Platinum card.
Note: While these deals are unlimited, Pepper will often limit users on their overall volume of purchases in a given day. You might be able to call in and verify to increase your limits.
My thanks if you enter my signup code 584255 during the initial signup process. Those who signup with a referral code get double Pepper points on all purchases for 15 days. (Not clear whether these bonus deals will be doubled.) No referral links or references in the comments below, please.
The Instacart deal got me to finally join Pepper. My experience trying to purchase it is probably going to make me permanently quit. I had a BofA card claim I didn’t respond to a 3d secure challenge, as someone else described. I switched to another card and the issuer declined for potential fraud – understandable and no problem. I confirmed it was me, and should have been good to go. But when I try again with that card, Pepper keeps insisting it’s being declined even though they’re not putting it through. I changed to another card, one that even has me confirm with a one time code, and Pepper still keeps claiming it’s being declined when it’s not. This site is a mess. I emailed, but if they don’t fix something in time for me to get this deal, I’m done.
I’d be careful with Walmart gift cards. A coworker and I recently both bought physical cards at a store– different card designs both with the legit Walmart PIN seal intact. On the same day a week later, both cards were drained online.
Seems like the card numbers are being generated in a predictable pattern and then PINs are being brute forced
Walmart’s customer service has been giving me a hard time about needing to provide a paper receipt when I paid electronically with Walmart Pay.
Avoid.
Thanks for the heads-up. What $ amount was on the compromised WM gift cards? I had an issue with WM gift card balance (around $70) that was somehow drained without my knowledge. WM customer service would not reimburse the stolen funds.
Mine was just shy of the full $100, my coworker’s was half of the $20.
It seems their server has a big problem, many user cannot log in for a while. I talked with an agent, she told me about 70% users are influenced.
I was told the same thing yesterday and have now gone 24 hours without being able to access my account, no call back from the reps today, and no response to any of my support tickets in 2 weeks. I’m now filing CC disputes with Amex as I have no other recourse with this company.
I tried to use a Visa gift card and kept getting a message that I was failing the 3d secure challenge when checking out. I pushed my luck with retries and ended up with my account getting locked. Can anyone confirm whether or not Visa gift cards can be used on Pepper?
Have had better luck with MC GC’s and then sparingly (approx one transaction per day)
No, you can not use Visa/Master gift card on Pepper. Even some Bank of America cc not working.
Sams shows 2x Amazon 4x what am I missing or am I too late?
I’ve made a comment on the previous post as well, and you’ve corrected it and made it clear that 10X is the same as 10%, but help me understand cause I don’t get it…
Amazon shows 10x right now; when I put $100 to buy, It shows that I will earn 8000 points with the purchase, which is $4, right? Which makes it 4%, no?
unless, as others suggest, that boost is going to be applied later, but then it makes 40%? which can’t be
IDK if they’re purposely trying to confuse with the multipliers, etc.
I find the points system deliberately confusing. Is it possible the Amazon gift cards “sold out” so you’re only seeing the regular 4%? It should say “10x” in green below where you enter your chosen amount.
It’s not that complicated. You get 4% immediately and 6% in 2 weeks or however long it is.
Thanks, then I guess the problem is with their UI design choices since it shows in the same screen 10X and 8000 points
The bonus details are in the deals tab. These pay out the remaining points on 8/31
I am getting 40k points on $500 amazon gc. Thats like 20 bucks. How is this 10% off?
the boost doesn’t deposit until 8/31 per the terms and conditions
the bonus points will be rewarded on 8/31
Amazon is dead now
Thanks. I finally got the signup process to work (using the referral code). It kept erroring out on the phone number verification earlier in the day, but they must have gotten it fixed.
