Free $5 From Mrrebates Portal, Includes Existing Users (Minimum $10 To Cashout)

Update 11/26/24: Deal is back for 2024. Login and check your account to see if you are targeted. (Hat tip to RM)

The Offer

Direct Link to offer

  • Mrrebates shopping portal is offering a free $5 holiday bonus which can be claimed at the above link.

The Fine Print

  • Please note that only valid Mr. Rebates’ accounts registered before November 15th, 2020 are eligible for this promotion which would be customers who received the post card in the mail.

Our Verdict

I believe this is working for everyone (?). There is a $10 minimum to cashout; I suppose they are hoping that the $5 bonus will encourage people to continue shopping through the portal to reach $10. For those who already have balances with the portal, I guess it’s just a free $5.

Unfortunately, this Mr. Rebates’ account is not eligible for the bonus promotion as this email address account did not receive the post card via postal mail.
The bonus promotion was mailed via USPS to specific Mr. Rebates’ accounts

If there is soup for you, what’s the problem? 😉

I got it when clicking through the link (didn’t show just logging into my acct) and the last rebate I had was last years $5, hadn’t used the account all year apparently but was still targeted.

RM,

Based on this DP from KS your speculation might not be correct. I might still try a small purchase at some point to possibly give myself a better chance next year.

Eric 🔗 Who knows? I was extrapolating from two data points — P2 got it after making a bunch of purchases, and I did not. I actually had some purchases, but they got marked as ineligible (giftcards.com with an unlisted promo code). So your guess is as good as mine.

Mr. Rebates reminds me of BeFrugal — a very small outfit that is a stickler for rules and does not have the capacity (or desire) to give good faith credits when things don’t track. I don’t see myself using them much compared to the big portals that are more willing to just make things right when things don’t track instead of blaming the merchant.

I prefer BF to MR as they offer bonuses from time to time rather than only once a year. I believe that BF has only not tracked for me 1 time and they didn’t end up giving me the CB (or the missing bonus) so you are correct about that.

Chuck This is back. Only accounts with active purchases within the last year seem to be eligible. P2 got it; I did not.

It might be worth making a small purchase in 2025 to set myself up for the $5 bonus next year. What do you think?

I’ve not used the account since 2014, but I did get the $5 bonuses in 2020 and 2021.

Woohoo. $5 put me over the $10 cashout threshold… $5 from last year’s freebie and a couple of bucks from 2021.
